I was a part of the screenshot community for a good 2 years and I can sure as hell tell you what you see is legitimate. Though, there where a few slip ups in Halo 3 days that resulted in fileshare banning.
If what your asking me for is a pro-tip guide, I've been out of the field to long. All I can offer you are a few pointers.
1: Effects. 9 out of 10 screenshots are taken through some form of explosion mixed with an FX in forge mode. If your serious about it, create your own map, preferably one with a black wall to test out explosion colors.
2: Angle. Angle means everything. An angle can make or break a screenshot. Try not to go on the full frontal. Zoom in and try to get a side view.
3: Background. A background is a great way to express the emotion in your shot. You want a forest picture? Throw a tree in there. It really helps bring your idea to life.
