I <3 you too Bungie

So I had a first yesterday. I met a Bungie fan while out playing non-bungie stuff on the world wide internets. I was playing Starcraft II late at night (the really -blam!- mod called Mafia) when a guy named frogblast joined the game. I immediately asked him, as in frogblast the vent core? to which ye responded, Yes, Marathon 1995. Then we laughed, mentioned being Bungie fans, and played the game. I hesitated to ask him anything about if he has a Bungie.net username, xbl gamertag, etc.

All that to say, is it creepy to try to connect with a fellow Bungie fan that you randomly run into for 2 minutes? I just didn't want to respond ZOMG BUNGIE BUDDIES FOR LIEF WILL YOU BE MY FRIEND, but at the same time it would have been cool to make a new friend like that. Thoughts?

Do friend requests exist IRL?

Seriously though, how do you connect with Bungie fans away from Bungie.net without being creepy? If it's on xbl you can send a friend request and it's easy. If you're out and about or on battle.net or something it's a lot more convoluted. It's not like we're trekkies and can just go pull a Spock on them.

I used to be somewhat recognizable, however my main account is being weird and I haven't been on it in like 6 months. I mostly play without a mic and don't really bother to get to know anyone.

Black Tower

I went to school with a few, it was pretty cool.

We ended up playing Reach in the hallways, mainly backsmacks and him running at me as if holding a gun making "pew pew pew" noises before punching me and becoming joyous about his kill.

Oh, and paper balls and pens were stickies.

What? Got something against Yetis?

I once saw a guy walking down the street with a Bungie hoody on.
I gave him a big smile.

He gave me a restraining order.

Dianna Agron is the epitome of perfection.

Quinntology.

I wouldn't really call that the wild. There chances of you meeting a Bungie fan on another game is much higher than meeting a Bungie fan out on the streets. That, and they're harder to recognize.

That's what I'm talking about. It just seems creepy if you want to introduce yourself and identify. Either that or you come across as an incompetent nerd-lifer that has nothing to live for.

Wow. Even finding out that they went to the same school together would be weird, but the same class!

Holy cow.

That'd be crazy.

In a time long past, the armies of the dark came again to the lands of men. Their leaders became known as the fallen lords, and their terrible sorcery was without equal in the west.
In 30 years they reduced the civilized nations into carrion and ash. Until the free city of Madrigal alone defined them. An army gathered there, and a desperate battle was joined against the fallen
Heros were born in the fire and bloodshed of the wars which followed and their names and deeds will never be forgotten

You imply a level of control over Halo: Reach matchmaking that we no longer have. Or, in your vernacular, it isn't our shiznit anymore.

I see a few Halo shirts now and then but I haven't recognized anyone who used the site before IRL.
