Subject: should there be a different type of rank

other than mods and members like somebody who only has the power to lock threads or edit posts would that be a good idea?

We've got theme masters also. Don't forget them now.

We don't have any powers, bear in mind.

And I don't think we really need any new roles. Anyone trusted enough to moderate should be trusted enough to do the whole thing.

u may not have powers, but thats not the cool part. Sure it's fun to lock threads and stuff but the best part is the Custom avatar.

Haven't there already been like...4 threads talking abnout new roles this week?

I wouldn't mind having a Senior Member rank, or a Veteran Member rank. That's how most Forums have rankings, but this site's Forums aren't like most.

ya espcially since there is such a low chance for mods its only fair cuz most members are deleted by the time they around as long as senior so its only fair

In my group I have an Advanced Member rank...all you can do with it is create resource entries.

they mean boards outside of bungie, the groups follow the same forum formate, they are talking about boards like invisionfree, for however many posts the admin chooses to advance, every so many posts you make you get a pip and a rank

No, he means what everyone so far has thought. He raised the question of having some sort of rank with moderator-like powers. The current role system is fine; we don't need a new role.

I think the only new rank we could use are people who have tons of experience with the forums that have a good enough rep to be trusted by Bungie and volunteer to work on the website as maintenence to help keep the beast that is Bungie.net up and running. But, as others had mentioned, it would be cool if we had a "rank" system where they take the ranks of the UNSC and make it extremely difficult to move up the ranks. Ranks could seperated into two different categories (since that's how most military orginizations handle rank), one representing seniority, the other representing the ammount of post the person has put up. Just my thought.

yeah, we don't need stuff like that, but i would like a person to be able to moderate their own topic, so if somewon goes off topic in it he can delet the post or something, this way good topics can stay open, but he couldn't edit moderator posts, and his moderating power would be limited

I already had a thread like this one... It was shot down immediately. If you have one for people that post a lot and have a lot of activity, then there will be mass numbers of spam. I like the idea of seniority though. I thought it would be a good idea as well. I do not think that they will do this though.

I think the way it is set up right now is good for Bungie

I think that bungie should have something like a group mamanger to watch over the groups so that stuff like your doom clan isnt a group and wasting bungie's and microsoft's money so then there wouldnt be so much good groups lose to the stupid clans

What's wrong with being a regular old member? Don't we all have just as much fun, and isn't that really the point to all of this?

That promotes spam.

I'm not that active, but never dead.

I would rather be recognized by members of the Bungie.net, than recognized by Bungie itself, considering that Bungie is part of the community just like we are.

"In a composite Nation like ours, made up of almost every variety of the human family, there should be, as before the Law, no rich, no poor, no high, no low, no black, no white, but one country, one citizenship equal rights and a common destiny for all.

A government that cannot or does not protect the humblest citizen in his right to life, Liberty and the pursuit of happiness, should be reformed or overthrown, without delay."
