I <3 you too Bungie

I'm starting this off by saying immediately that I'm past the interning stage in my career (at least right now). Anything I do professionally needs to be paid, so I'm not attempting to plug myself here.

Does Bungie offer internships? If so, why are they not listed on the careers page? I'm thinking maybe the type of work most companies have interns do, they have contract employees take care of. Internships are regarded as a cool thing for companies to do, and if selection is done well, it can really energize the staff with new thoughts, perspectives, etc. My other thought is that maybe they do have internships, they just keep them under wraps since they want local or network-only applicants.

Why do people in ship mutinies always ask for "better treatment"? I'd ask for a pinball machine, because with all that rocking back and forth, you'd get a lot of free games.

Maybe in order to understand mankind, we have to look at the word itself: "Mankind". Basically, it's made up of two separate words - "mank" and "ind". What do these words mean? It's a mystery, and that's why so is mankind.

I am under the impression the answer is no.

Trying something once will increace your chances of success, because you tried it. Try someting twice, and your chances increase yet again - seeing as you've done it. Try something a few thousand times, and your chances of success is exponentially increased; this increase would likely provide success every time

They hire only one intern. The poor guy has to do all of the boring work for the entire office. And it's not even a paid internship.

I doubt they do and if there is any interns is will probably be a kid of someone that works there.

Is this fact or fiction?

Probably not.

In the past they have hired contractors to do contract work for them. Shishka got his start at Bungie as a contract artist, IIRC.

I am not sure if they offer internships, but they might still offer contract positions. Check the jobs section often and keep your dreams up. :)

There was one once back in 03(?) I believe. Skip Weasel?

Edit: Yep.

In a time long past, the armies of the dark came again to the lands of men. Their leaders became known as the fallen lords, and their terrible sorcery was without equal in the west.
In 30 years they reduced the civilized nations into carrion and ash. Until the free city of Madrigal alone defined them. An army gathered there, and a desperate battle was joined against the fallen
Heros were born in the fire and bloodshed of the wars which followed and their names and deeds will never be forgotten

I believe JonnyOThan was an intern before becoming a full time employee, but only because he was exceptionally talented.

That sounds cool.

So only 2 interns we know of, one of which is under the age of 18.

Bungie Publications are just as good.

If you're in High School, study your butt off. If you're in college, join the computer club and all the clubs related to games. Get involved, design, develop, create. Build yourself up to be the best. :)

Interning? At a games studio? Like, for nothing? Good lord why would you want to inflict that on yourself.

It's a lofty idea, but development itself is brutal. Doing it unpaid as an intern sounds like hell.

yeah but sometimes if you really like something, you WILL do it for free and the general experience you gain from doing it.

An internship with a famous company like Bungie could help you go on to many more job opportunities or maybe if Bungie likes you, a full time job.

Either way there will be a payoff be it the fun of interning there to the future opportunities.

I don't know, they have a lot of open jobs and in any industry, it is always good to get fresh new talent.

That is what I imagine (considering all the companies that draft people out of college).

If you look at most of the qualifications for open positions at Bungie studios, most require 4+ years of experience. Bungie wants employees that will do it right the first time.

Interns are not employees. The whole point of an internship is to learn a trade skill while doing (mostly grunt) work for a company.

There are a lot of qualified people on this website who, (while certainly not being able to create a final product) could have a substantial impact on Bungie's games, for the better, if only they were exposed to the environment.

Skilled, enthusiastic people who get your coffee for you everyday? I don't know how you could ever not want that.
