Over my time here on B.net, there has been one thing, and one thing only that has never bored me: The Flood. Each and every time I come here, I love seeing some of the humorous, witty threads created. But in the past year, The Flood, as a whole, has diverted from the spamming and excessive trolling to a more mature, somewhat intelligent section of the forum here.
Most recently, the situation in the Middle East, Occupy Wall St. and other social and political situations be tackled in a well behaved fashion. Maybe it is because the actual forum users themselves are getting older, or maybe there are new users who are more respectable, but I believe The Flood may be ready for political and or religious discussion.
I am not saying all topics on the subject should be allowed. For instance "I hate the NDP party of Canada", or "I don't even like Obama" would obviously not be acceptable subjects. However, there are some threads that tackle nearly all aspects of politics in many different manners, and 50 pages later stay on topic, well behaved. While the thread was based around social and economical issues, it also dealt a lot with governance, and people's personal opinions on many different matters.
I have even noticed some of the moderators partaking in what is regarded as "not allowed" discussion, and only locking if the topic becomes out of hand. So, is there any chance we may see some more leniency in The Flood on religious and / or political topics? Again, I don't believe it should all be allowed, but I've noticed the forum has been very well behaved considering what it was like when I first joined here.
