Just played halo CE again and just realized how much I hated the level the library your thoughts in this level?

I find that it's actually pretty awesome. If you can let yourself just sort of sink into its rhythm, it's got an odd, mesmerizing quality.

Aw, poor baby keeps dying on Easy?

I hate how boring The Library is in Halo CE. It was my least favorite level due to the repetition.

If you don't offer the Flood a dance, they'll kill you every time.

Even on low difficulties.

I'm going to HATE the Library. It's not the enemies (though the Flood are plenty scary enough), it's the fact that they pop out of nowhere, 343 GS is an [REDACTED], and it just has this whole 'hopeless' feeling around it.

ooga booga boooh

It was one of the most lazily put together levels, to me anyways. I think there could have been a lot more added, but whatever.

Good players work together...and no matter how good you are, you're not physic. - blade6321

The enemy encounters are actually predictable if you've played a fair amount of FPS's (Or CE...). As for the flood, keep a shotgun and your pistol. If you know where the Combat forms with the Rocket Launchers are, you'll do fine. Last time I ran through it on Legendary, I coasted by with only 2 deaths. It's not hard; just dull.

I don't mind the level too much, but it's certainly not one of my favorites. I almost broke my first controller playing this on Legendary...

Winner of the 2012 Lurker of the Year award.

I'm watching you.

Grab the shotgun, run like hell, and hope for the best.

Screw Off you Benidict Assface!!

People, while The Library is hard, Truth and Reconciliation (dunno if I spelt that right) is much harder IMO.

This.

They're especially easy to manipulate. Fire around a corner, the Flood will be drawn to you. They take firing very seriously. One might think not firing is a good idea but it's more easier to get them in cluster for a grenade if you fire.

I like your spawn can I have it?

It's my favorite level in CE. Especially on Legendary, crazy times.

That is my problem with it.

Hopefully CEA will make improvements. Keep in mind that was 10 years ago. Meaning it was in development in the 99-00, video games were primitive then compared to now.

I thought it was fine.

Good point. We need to compare the game with other games of that era.

"We live in a special time; the only time where we can observationally verify that we live in a very special time" - Lawrence Krauss.

I was a finalist :P

Loved the captions that appeared as you rose up the elevator. Favourite one was: "Wait. It gets worse"

I loved the level. The only hard parts were defending one of the locked doors and entering the final door which led to the index. Gotta love it on Legendary!

Good thing it isn't in the remake then, eh.

I liked the level. As someone mentioned, it had a mysterious, mesmerizing, quality to it. It boasted a very eerie, and wondrous, atmosphere and I always wanted to just explore the structure.

I love that level!

Carnage, simply put. And what more can we ask for in a FPS? The only other game that I have played where there is almost a matching feeling is DOOM III, once you have the chainsaw in your bag o tricks, that is mayhem and carnage as well, in the same box even! There might even be a cherry on top.

There is just something very satisfying about cleaning house with the shotty. It is my fav flood level from either CE or H2.

I think what throws many people in that level is that you have very little cover other than the corners and most people try to rush through it and end up getting in over their heads, rather than approaching it as the slow meat grinder that it was intended to be.
