The story behind the idea; as seen in Weekly Review 1.
Lately I've noticed an uproar in complaints about users wanting the weekly updates back, but the fact of the matter is Bungie is dark, and I anticipate they're going to stay that way for some time. So I thought, "if we can't have the Weekly Update, why don't we put together the next best thing?" A Weekly Review where the members can interact, and add what they feel was important or funny in the weeks past.
I know it's not as exciting, but it's better than nothing.
This week we decided to change up the layout a bit.
1: Write Up
2: Review
3: The Interview
The team and I aren't sure on which layout we prefer (the old or the new) and any feedback would be really appreciated.
The Weekly Write Up: Rokit Style.
A DP shout-out:
You all have absolutely no idea how bad I feel about not mentioning DP in my Weekly Review. Here I go...
To some people, DP was a friend - to others a nobody. But one thing rings true, he was a part of us. As a Community, we're a million different voices bottled up into one sleep deprived child. Don't believe me? Think of it this way - when most people read they attach voices and faces to the characters. Thus coming to the conclusion that we are in your head. BAM!
I've known two of my fellow members that have passed away; one being a friend, the other almost a friend; I can't say that I knew DP, very well or at all. From what I remember in The Community Carnage I played with him, and reading his post history - I can definitely say that I have respect for him. He had one of the best balances of being a witty jokester and a gentlemen-scholar.
I would like to turn the interest to, ~B.B for a quick moment. Some of you just shed a tear, and some of you just said WTF? To shed light on those in the dark, BB was an outstanding member of our Community prior to his passing February 25th, 2010. Here's what Helveck had to say, a brilliant read if you get the chance.
After watching The Community these last few days, I've noticed many familiarities with how The Community took BB's passing. Some got hit hard with the news, some didn't care, and others wished they would have talked more. But. . .then I got to thinking.
How would The Community know if you unfortunately passed away?
I can tell you for certain that nobody in this Community would know if I were to pass. Which, honestly, kind of killed me on the inside. I absolutely love you guys, each and every one of you - even the fish loving Qbix. To me you guys are: family, friends - doctors, lawyers, and house-spouses. You're the ones that make my day and the reason I'm going bald, but I love you guys; yet, none of you knew it until now.
So, what exactly does this all mean for you? Take a risk, create a friendship, and cut the cyberspace blockade out of the picture in time. Respect someone? Like someones comments? Enjoying their Doop Coup? Send 'em a message and chat a little. Life's too short to not know someone you respect and agree with, especially if there's a PM box. Because who knows, you may one day never hear from them again, unknown to the fact that they have passed.
There's no better time than the present to know thy favorable neighbors. You're speaking with them everyday, but how many actually know you think they're cool people? Think of it this way the worst that can happen is a Block List....
Back to the basics.
The Weekly Review:

- Are you a kick-ass Concept Artist? Take lead and apply now.
On a Serious Note:
- Recently, it was pointed out that the title system has something new added, be it bug or intentional. In the infamous Title bar FAQ thread, some of the members are having "Absent" appear before their member titles. Ex Bungie employee Shishka has one such title.

The Weekly Interview:

Sonic343
Q: Who are you and what do you do?
A: Well, I'm Sonic. My typical day consists of school, work, and video games. I also play hockey.
Q: What made you want to come to Bungie.net?
A: Originally I joined to check some Halo 2 and Halo 3 stats and to participate in the forums.
Q: Why do you still come to Bungie.net?
A: I mainly come here to interact in the forums or in groups, or to check my Reach stats.
And for the lame jokes.
Q: If you like lame jokes you must love me. If you had to chose, which Bungie Employee would you marry and why?
A: Achronos. I know he just loves when I throw plasma grenades at him when he's on my team.
Q: If you had the chance to go skinny dipping with anyone from Bungie.net who would it be and why?
A: This is a hard choice. No pun intended. Probably someone from the list below.
Q: Any shout outs you want to say to those awesome Bungie.net members?
A: Defiantly would like to give some shout outs to my MLG Halo matchmaking crew: Obi Wan Stevobi, umd z, TuffJuice,Yankee, Hawkeye543, Butane123, Bobcast, Egodude, immortal/Skittles, Senor Leche (even though I don't play with him much), and Vetoed.
I'd also like to give a shout out to everyone in Team Timeout.
Q: I see a strong lack of the most awesome person on Bungie.net there... Anyways... Have you had any exciting experiences in your life?
A: None come to mind. I think the most exciting thing I've done recently is visit Seattle's Space Needle.
Q: You are boring... What is the worst advice you have ever received?
A: Anything the Flood has given me.
Q: What are you talking about? the flood gives awesome advice when it comes to women. What is your worst job experience?
A: Hmmm. Probably handling recycling at a restaurant. It's sticky and smells bad.
Q: Yeah, I remember reaching my hand down a toilet for work *shutters*... Is there anyone in your life who has really effected you?
A:Probably my grandfather.
Q: Is there a lady you got your eye on?
A: Maybeee *giggle*
Q: What kind of car do you have?
A: A Dodge Dakota. Not sure what year.
Q: No pics? Really? :( What do/are you doing as a career?
A: I want to get into game design or programming.
Q: What is something you have always wanted to do but haven't?
A: Get into Airsoft. I've been looking at some guns to get.
Q: Meh, I always find those kind of activities to be a waste of money... What is a dream you had as a kid but have yet to accomplished?
A: I really can't say.
Q: Gross. Final question, How do you eat your oreos?
A: The way you're meant to:
Pull apart
Eat the side with no filling.
Lick the filling off the other side
Eat the other side.
Sometimes I'll dunk the cookie in milk.
Every other way of eating oreos should be illegal.
Well there you have it!
Alright guys, that's it for this week! Stay tuned.
