I agree, no one even bothers to touch Halo CE. I myself found that it was ok except for the lag, and lack of people who take an hour or two to give the game a chance.

I know...I have been on the last couple of nights for at least 4 hours each night.I'm in two minds as to carry on turning up or not for the rest of the week...I will though (probably) because I still want to try and do my bit.I live in the UK,which means the kick off time for me is a bit on the late side (midnight!),but it hasn't stopped me.If I can manage to get myself out there on the battlefield and do my bit,why not others?...I'm afraid we might just have to admit defeat on this...I don't want to but what can you do if the rest of the community don't want to partake?!...RIP CE!!!

Whelp... before you make your decision, just think on it for a moment. Forget about the 1000 player deal. It's not going to happen during these planned days. But why should that give you reason to quit? I know there must not be very many people on during your peak time (you living overseas and all) and the server selection must not be very good... but if you quit, that's one fewer person to boost the regular numbers. If everyone who played CE stuck with CE, then the numbers could only grow. Things could only get better and we would gradually climb towards 1000. But only if people don't quit. However, at the end of the day it is your choice, and whatever choice you make I still respect your initial decision to try and help out. :)

You're right. Halo PC is still hella fun, despite all the complaining that goes on. That's an important aspect to remember. Despite all the shortcomings of both Halo PC and CE, they're still fun to play. But you should know we're talking about a completely separate game than you're talking about (to all appearances, at any rate). Welcome to Halo Custom Edition, a standalone version of Halo PC Multiplayer that supports custom maps. You can find out more about it in my sig. :)

It is next to impossible for Halo CE to mess up your other instalations. It is a standalone program, meaning it installs to a different directory and does not use any files from the programs you mentioned. You don't even have to have Halo PC/demo installed to play CE. Sorry to say, something else messed up your Halo PC/demo installs. ;)

Leoht...you ain't gotta worry about me mate!I've been on every night and will continue to do so for the rest of this week in spite of the time, then I can go back to playing at my regular times.I was just a little disgruntled.I'd been up until 5am and I'd had a crappy start to the day aswell when I wrote that...now I'm back to my normal happy self with a smile bigger than the crack in my a**e!(Our paths haven't crossed on there yet though...)

Halo is old. Trying to resurrect it is a waste of time ; as sad as that is to say. Just wait another two full months for Halo 2 to come out, you've already waited how long now? 2 more months wont kill any of us, and its not like people are gonna jump back into Halo once Halo 2 comes out. Its that good that it'll dominate its prequel into the history books.

Sorry...I have to disagree with you. What about all the people who don't have an XBox or do,but can't go live on it?With no 'official' plans with a release of Halo 2 on the PC,to most people, buying an XBox to play one game can't be justified (although I did,and the missus nearly killed me...lol).I can't go live on my XBox due to several reasons, and I'm gutted about not being able to play H2 online,on my PC...Therefore,I will continue to play Halo PC!I'm sure others will agree...

I wasnt really impressed with Halo's online multiplayer port for the PC. Too many bugs and the overwhelming amount of bull-blam!- and lag. Things like " bob killed dan " " dan killed bob ". Whatever happened to telling us what type of weapon killed us? Or if we were ran over and by which vehicle. The frustration this game brings from tiny knit picking problems grows to become an aggrivating attempt to play.

I dont mean to be so negative, but I cant stand playing for more than 30 minutes without getting bored of the gameplay.
That or its gets too frustrating to even try.

It's not so bad that it deserves to die though...that's my point. You are probably aware that if you can find a good server, you can play happily for AGES!It's not all bad...As far as being told what killed you is concerned, what does it matter?Your dead...lol.
