Looks like they took it out (before my time) Apparently people were abusing it to impersonate mods.

Did you have to spell it "Color"? I think there should have been a version for English people as well. (For those who aren't in the know, it's spelt "Colour" here.)

Actually, back then, mods and employees didn't have their own colors to post in. People just kept excessively making posts with multiple colors in them. Also, people would figure out the hexidecimal code of the post backgrounds and set their text color for the same to try and hide what they were posting.

It was only a matter of time before they removed it anyway.

In the United States they refuse to use the "U" in any word liek colour.

Labour is one of them.

That's because we're lazy. Why add an extra letter to a word when it does nothing? We also like to move E's to where they belong: centre -> center; theatre ->theater. :P

I'm confused about what the last two posts are refering to. I didn't see any flames or putdowns in the thread. This makes me think that you are talking about my post. Is this the case?

If so, everything I said was in jest, and not to be taken seriously.

Or was there something I missed?

You sound like my kindergarten teacher.

Are you serious.

I can't think of anything right now, but just know that in this situation I would most certainly post a put-down of your mother.

A few text color options would be nice. Bungie could just give us only colors that fit the color scheme and do not make people's eyes bleed or do not blend in with the background.

Phrog pilots, reckless and free. We would strap into our birds, set the engines on fire, and leave these earthly bonds with a chorus of WHOP WHOP WHOP. Akin to beating your chest and howling in defiance at the rest of the world.

I always thought the colors were a bit obnoxious when a signature or post would look like 'Joseph's Technicolor Dreamcoat'. Honestly, I was glad to see them go.

We don't do putdowns here. We lay the SMACKDOWN, foo'!

And yes I think colours (or color, or couleur or whatever) were removed because they detracted from the prettiness of the forums. Also now they use colours for posts by mods, maybe they implemented it with that change in mind?

I was here when they removed them, but I can't remember the definite reason... =)

Using the tag as [color=FFFFFF] or [colour=FFFFFF] would work equally well.

Are you sure? It doesn't work that way in HTML.
