Anyone but Foman. He smells like cheese.

I would definitely be down for a fun charity dinner. I do these occasionally here in DC and -- to be quite honest -- it's usually worth the money, even though it seems on its face to be a hefty price tag. Plus it feels good to donate money to a worthy cause.

Unfortunately, I don't think a trip to Seattle is possible for me anytime soon. Damn lack of vacation days!

'light bites' would be something of a let down at $250.
Every extra dollar they spend trying to get you to be ''charitable'' is one less dollar those kids get.

If you have a foundation, its best to ensure that any events your foundation hosts are viewed in a good light. You don't do that by charging $250 and not providing at least a meal. Hell I'd expect a glass of something too.
lolwut

How are the attendees going to feel slighted when they knew the menu and price when they signed up?

Am I the only one would be happy with pizza?

In a time long past, the armies of the dark came again to the lands of men. Their leaders became known as the fallen lords, and their terrible sorcery was without equal in the west.
In 30 years they reduced the civilized nations into carrion and ash. Until the free city of Madrigal alone defined them. An army gathered there, and a desperate battle was joined against the fallen
Heros were born in the fire and bloodshed of the wars which followed and their names and deeds will never be forgotten

I live across the country. :/

But I would definitely throw down $250 if I could.

It sounds really fun and I am helping someone. :p

I am more bummed about their choice of product. Kids need less iCrap and more books, walks, and interaction with other humans.

I don't question the motive. I am sure they mean to help as best they can. This is just a symptom of society now-a-days. Kids are forced to entertain themselves with electronics and lose out on quite a bit in the process. It is easier for parents and hospital staff alike to pawn off their entertainment, rather than talk or play.

Ah yes, a typical "kids these days" rant.

You can read books on an iPad. Paper books and digital books are the same thing, only one dosen't weigh anything and no dead trees are required. iPads don't prevent anyone from getting excercise. And, of course, they give people constant connection to other humans 24/7.

Did I miss anything?

The iPads (which can include reading material) are great for kids who can't get out of bed, or might need Facetime with friends and family who might be out of state, or even out of the country.
How've you resolved IA, data protection and infection control?

“Oh, it’s a little bit of everything, it’s the mountains, it’s the fog, it’s the news at six o’clock, it’s the death of my first dog, it’s the angels up above me, it’s the song that they don’t sing, It’s a little bit of everything.”
- Dawes, A little bit of everything

I would enjoy going, and would gladly pay the ticket price...but the air fare + hotel makes it too much for me.

I'm glad Bungie doing this.

Certain etiquettes should be followed - feeding your guests is way up there on the 'to do' list.

If you can't make decent profit from a $250 ticket when all you are doing is providing a [probably not very good] meal, urdoinitrong. If you want more profit, raise the prices.
I'm sorry but 'An evening with Bungie' really should be covering at least a few hours, hours in which guests should be served a meal.

That's not how these fundraisers work.

Political dinners can cost into the thousands, and you get about as much as you're getting here. The event isn't for the guests, you go to support whatever the dinner is being held for.

They're not doing it wrong, you're thinking about it wrong.

I simply don't have a way to get there or the funds, it's a real shame.

Same here. If I had a way to get there and the funds for it, I would most likely go. It's really cool to see the Bungie foundation doing this.

We all know you would.

You'd pay $250 just to touch the front door handle.

I don't have that much money but it sounds like a fun event.

I would just have to save up some money.

Too bad I live near South East :/

I'll go if Bungie can front the money and pay off my teachers to give me A's (because I'll be missing class)

Armor Lock is not a crutch, it is a wheelchair!

I would love to participate but Seattle is quite far away from SC, and a lowly A1C can't really cough up that much money for a ticket for a charity and plane ticket. :(

Same.

I vote that from now on Bungie holds all events on neutral territory (like Kansas).

Light bites will be served
I'm not a greedy man (well, maybe I am), but for a $250 ticket I'd want more than that. I'm thinking slow roasted shoulder of beef, with all the extras. And Yorkshire pudding. And some sort of dessert. I'm thinking cake. Layer cake.

And while my gastric juices are flowing, I note with approval the champagne and cider, but do think that something is missing; to whit, port.

I should go eat dinner.
WTF?

It's a charity dinner, not date night. Get a clue.

Y u so derp?
Plus a charity dinner is usually quite a nice night. 'light bites' would be something of a let down at $250.
He's right about the Port too.

Name calling, really?

The food doesn't have a $250 price tag...

Think about that for a second. The dinner isn't for you, it's for the children.

Anyways, I have lot of respect for people that go out of their way to help like that. You guys -blam!- ing rock, keep it up!
