Man, this is discouraging.
You're in charge, you make the rules. I guess it's time for me to accept that and get over it.
I don't have anything else to say about this that hasn't already been covered. Please lock it.
Seriously?
I thought that you were being light-hearted in response to what I believe was an overt and clearly poor attempt at humor and I was responding in kind. You were being serious?
My apologies. I thought that I was lightening the mood and that you were going along with it.
I have to say I didnt see his post as humorous in any aspect. You did break the word filter Recon, and I know you've had a run in with that rule in the past. I understand that mods want to push the grey area a bit, and be an active part of the community, but that was a blatant violation of the rules plain and simple. An appropriate comparison is if someone commits a crime against another person as a joke, and the friend calls them on it. That doesnt give the perpetrator any form of immunity.
For the original topic, yes the moderators operate differently. That is because they have their own opinions, and their own interpretations of the rules that are set by the staff here. I am inclined to agree and disagree with how threads are modded differently however. Moderators should have solidarity, and should stand as a cohesive unit, not breaking the rules that they enforce and getting away with it. However, everyone wants to have a little fun once in a while. Is it really harming anyone in the long run. Also if mods wanted to lock other mod's topics, many of them would be locked quickly, defeating the purpose.
Furthermore, i believe that inconsistency between the enforcers of the law is a normal thing, and its honestly something we just have to deal with. However, these points of authority should not knowingly and blatantly break the rules that they enforce and uphold. That is where I have the issue. No offence to Recon Number 54, but the papers are printed out rather clearly.
