All this over a -blam!- warning?

Guess what: We're human.

"All this" what?

All this discussion? I don't think I've said anything that's been out of line. I haven't broken any rules, I haven't attacked or flamed anyone.

No one is being forced to participate. If people didn't want to discuss this, they could have let the thread die.

Moderators, like you and I, are not homogeneous.

For instance: Crayons are homogeneous. Moderators are not.

So we're not homos, we're monochromatic and we're not geniuses. Crayons are smarter but they are ghey?

I was actually implying, through the use of the segment addition possible and numerous algorithms, that crayons are the future man.

As in there is a high probability that humans will be deposed by crayons as the dominant species on this earth.

ITT: Massive, overwhelming amounts of irony and butthurt.

Seriously, the amount of hypocrites on this forum, as well as the website overall, is outrageous.

If anyone must know, I am on the moderator's side of the argument, and let's leave it at that.

The End

‘The conscious is cancerous if allowed to linger’

"Even if you're on the right track, you'll get run over if you just sit there."

Reading through this thread I would also like to note that Forum Ninjas are actually held to a higher standard than many of you seem to realise.

As a result of retina raping text, we are under constant scrutiny. Foman already pointed out one consequence of this: some Ninjas feel less inclined to post.

If we ever did overstep the mark we would be hung for it. I would have thought this was common knowledge, much like we know over zealous or trigger happy moderation is bad and that toast is carcinogenic and causing climate change and also bad.

We are perceived as representives of Bungie and must hold ourselves to a certain standard. The difference is that our interpretation of the rules is [publicly] respected by other moderators and that we report to the webteam, not the soul.

Don't mind him.

This is why, if I ever became a forum ninja I would want to use a ALT for it.

If The moderators were hidden in plain sight it wouldn't be an issue.

However everyone knows who the bnet mods are, so it wouldn't work.

In a time long past, the armies of the dark came again to the lands of men. Their leaders became known as the fallen lords, and their terrible sorcery was without equal in the west.
In 30 years they reduced the civilized nations into carrion and ash. Until the free city of Madrigal alone defined them. An army gathered there, and a desperate battle was joined against the fallen
Heros were born in the fire and bloodshed of the wars which followed and their names and deeds will never be forgotten

Man, this is discouraging.

You're in charge, you make the rules. I guess it's time for me to accept that and get over it.

I don't have anything else to say about this that hasn't already been covered. Please lock it.

Seriously?

I thought that you were being light-hearted in response to what I believe was an overt and clearly poor attempt at humor and I was responding in kind. You were being serious?

My apologies. I thought that I was lightening the mood and that you were going along with it.

I have to say I didnt see his post as humorous in any aspect. You did break the word filter Recon, and I know you've had a run in with that rule in the past. I understand that mods want to push the grey area a bit, and be an active part of the community, but that was a blatant violation of the rules plain and simple. An appropriate comparison is if someone commits a crime against another person as a joke, and the friend calls them on it. That doesnt give the perpetrator any form of immunity.

For the original topic, yes the moderators operate differently. That is because they have their own opinions, and their own interpretations of the rules that are set by the staff here. I am inclined to agree and disagree with how threads are modded differently however. Moderators should have solidarity, and should stand as a cohesive unit, not breaking the rules that they enforce and getting away with it. However, everyone wants to have a little fun once in a while. Is it really harming anyone in the long run. Also if mods wanted to lock other mod's topics, many of them would be locked quickly, defeating the purpose.

Furthermore, i believe that inconsistency between the enforcers of the law is a normal thing, and its honestly something we just have to deal with. However, these points of authority should not knowingly and blatantly break the rules that they enforce and uphold. That is where I have the issue. No offence to Recon Number 54, but the papers are printed out rather clearly.
