We are not a clan, we are a community, doing the Seven7th Column a favor, bringing the Halo-knowledgeable to the right place. And the coolest place.

Dropping feet first into hell isn't our job; making sure it's crowded when we get there is.
SPECWAR/GroupTHREE is an organization made up of multiple unique teams of SPARTAN-IIIs, each self-governed, each majorly independent of one another. Each team is made up of close friends from near and far, and each is as casual as the team wants to be as far as competitive gaming, Halo research, fan-fiction, etc., however all members must be active in some way. Bear in mind, we are still a newly founded group with developing rules, ideas, and opinions, and decide things by majority rule on many occasions.
We, again, aren't a clan. Clans aren't our style, anyway - they don't understand why we go to Denny's so often either, half the time. Truthfully, there is no set leader for the collective of teams as a whole - just leaders of teams with up to six members each. We're big into making extensive, deep backstory for all of our SPARTANS, and some of our members want that to progress into small-time machinima. Everyone, everyone, in G3 is able to create backstory, or contribute to others' stories (should the author allow contribution, of course). Many unique stories have been created through GroupTHREE members, and we'd love to see that continue to flourish in the near future from our new guys.
The way we express our personal backstories individually, as teams, and as a unit in general is through two main venues; our group on Bungie.net, and our interactions in-game on Halo: Reach.
The Bungie.net Group plays host to a variety of constantly changing information, including member-created stories and machinima, storyline discussion, pointless (yet hilarious) videos, member commune, and more. From the official to the absurd, it can be found in the G3 dungeons.
Over Xbox Live, I'm not sure there's a way to accurately describe gaming sessions with G3. Some of us are serious, some of us are goofballs, some of us are in between - though, all of us share a common goal; to have fun, and immerse ourselves in the storyline we know best (or, as is the case with some G3 members, one of the storylines we know best. Jabba FTW). On Reach, all members are permitted to wear whatever they want, which leaves plenty of room for personal preferences. If you want your SPARTAN to look like a jumbled mess of pink and neon-yellow armor, go ahead. If you fancy a more story-based approach, design your SPARTAN's look to fit your storyline, or even on-the-fly according to what you'll be working with during the next game; CQB, long-range, medium-range, hazardous conditions, etc. To be technical, the armor was designed with a purpose, right? Still, not required. Why? Because we're cool like that. That's why.
Tournaments with unique prizes contributed by members are held moderately often, and every member is eligible to win. Even if you're not the best SPARTAN ever trained, you still have a chance of walking away with something special. Sometimes, the more artsy members of G3 pick a number randomly before the games begin. If you land their required number, or close to it, through the means they specify (placing a certain spot in a game, ending the game with a particular score, or even simply guessing the closest to their number with that wondrously pristine mind of yours) they'll make you something really unique. You. In the past, skillful sketches of G3 members have been signed and shipped out to those who did not even come close to winning the tournaments. Usually, whatever fashion you're sporting in that particular game is what you'll be depicted like. (Be fancy, it pays off. Gives the artists a runaround, too.)

There are a few major requirements to any personnel who wish to be transferred into SPECWAR/GroupTHREE, but rest assured, when we say "few" we mean it. However, these few must be enforced to achieve the image originally intended with GroupTHREE.
1. You must join the Bungie.net group in order to become a potential transfer to a team. Once you're added to the member queue, message someone who's already a member if you haven't already. You won't get accepted if we don't know who you are. I mean, hey, if it were my house, I probably wouldn't want people stalkin' my doorstep if I didn't know 'em that well. Once we know you mean business, you'll be welcomed into the group with open, armor-plated arms. This isn't the last step to becoming a full-fledged member, though.
In order to fully transfer into G3, you've gotta spend some time with us. We get to know each and every member of G3 on a near-personal level, and we cherish people with social skills, because people with social skills are awesome, plain and simple. By spending time with the various teams and members of G3, you'll most likely get on the good side of one of them eventually. That can take anywhere from one day to three months. It all depends on the team. However, once your trial period with these guys comes to a close, you'll know. The team's leader will likely contact you and arrange for you to join them in a colorful display of bro-hugs, fist-bumps, and other manly gestures. Even if you're a woman. Bro-hug.
You can also create your own team, consisting of no more than six people, and request a transfer. However, teams are far less likely to be accepted, due to the fact that each member's Halo knowledge must be accounted for, and those who do not meet requirements will subsequently not be allowed to join with their team. The process to join for each member is the same as depicted above, but the team's leader must contact a G3 member before his teammates.
2. We are a Halo story-rich group. We try to maintain as streamlined a connection as possible with the actual Halo storyline when we fan-fictify. Any member considering joining must know significantly more Halo storyline than the average player. All incoming members' canon must be as close to previously established SPECWAR/GroupTHREE group canon and Halo franchise canon as possible.
Also, all members of GroupTHREE are required to have a form of backstory about their SPARTAN. This can be developed in conjunction with G3 as you join, or you can attempt to use pre-created storyline prior to joining (this isn't really ideal, because many times, pre-created fan-fiction doesn't really fit with Halo story, or G3 story, and must be terminated and re-written, correctly). Think of it as though somehow, you were plucked out of the womb of your own mother, shot 500 years forward in time into the womb of your new, genetically-superior "Halo-Mother", born at the perfect time to be selected for one of the companies enlisted in the SPARTAN-III program, trained, and finally, deployed, with your personality and interest as you see yourself today. It's you how you are right now, just... 500 years in the future. And you've got some sweet new clothes. Simply put; in-game, you're you.
3. The Xbox Live Bio must be changed to reflect a SPARTAN-III Background File. Below is an example of SPARTAN-III candidate B-033's Background File as it would be seen in an Xbox Live Bio:

Currently, we're searching for new members, or teams of no more than six members to transfer into the group. If you're considering joining alone, and are confident in your Halo knowledge, you should have an easy time passing the queue and getting assigned to a team.
If you're already part of a non-G3 team you'd like to transfer into G3 with, bear in mind that passing a team is much more difficult. Each member of said team must meet the requirements of G3, and be prepared for denial if they do not.
Thank you for your time (if you got this far by reading everything above, I applaud you for the huge attention span you possess), and on behalf of GroupTHREE, good day.
