Well, here we are. I guess that it was destined to come to this.

This may seem selfish but I'm not interested in EA. I did't like the fact that they lay-offed alot of employees(if your clueless then check one of the GameInformer Issues 200+). My friend and I are fans of Halo and recently looked at Bungie's vidoc and would like to see Bungie. We want to learn information from a company that is cool and good which is Bungie. It seems more like employees have fun at Bungie and I think that is something to learn from(Plus I want a autograph!).

Is there anyway to arrange a guest speaker if a Employee happens to pass by in Florida? =/ In one of your Break In's there was a employee that went to Full Sail in Florida.

Bungie's a long way from there, but there are other game developers in Florida. One of EA Sport's studios is in Orlando, for example. Try looking around for a local IGDA chapter, that's a good way to find a speaker in driving distance.

The only way that I can think of really motivating someone to be a guest is to actually invite them and offering to be their host.

So, if the invitation involves a flight, hotel and car at no personal cost to the Bungie team member... then you might get a nibble. Especially once it gets cold and wet up in the Northwest.

However, if you are willing and able to make such an offer, then you would likely want to have some control over who is your speaker. For example, if Urk were to post your invite on the board in the break room, you might end up with Staten, you might get Marty, you might end up with Stosh and his cat. All of which would be interesting speakers, all for very different reasons.

While you could get a speaker and presentation along the lines of a Steve Jobs, you could just as easily get a Michael Scott.

>implying that having Michael Scott as a speaker wouldn't be amazingly funny.

Well, I don't have the money to even think about inviting a Bungie member with my own funds. Maybe I'm asking too much... I just want to get the advice and information from a company I think is good.

I don't think that's what he was implying.

Get a van and put "Free Candy" on the side of it and park out front of Bungie. It should work.

Nope...I've been trying for years.

I rarely post... but what about if you had a webcam/projector set up and maybe an employee could talk to your class through that if they had the time?

Live interview/talk eh? That sounds like a great idea.

It's like a retard riding a bicycle while eating hot wings.
Sometimes you have to take the bike seat off to really enjoy it.

Seems like the best option.

If I were to guess, the only way they would come to the east coast would be free plane tickets, free alcohol, and hot girls to do their bidding(keep it clean)

WOOT good idea!

Its probably been said already in this thread but;

First of all, its a little out of the way. You would have to fund the trip, accomidation and all other travel related expenses yourself.

Secondly, it would need to be worth their while. I'd doubt they would come for just a small talk which would be no benefit to them, or serve much benefit to those that attend the talk.

Could you try other games devs in Florida? Last I checked, there were a few in Orlando (EA being the biggest one I can think of).

Try "Free Beer". Thank me later.

I would recommend this, as the people at EA might do this. I go to UCF (which is in Orlando) and during my freshman engineering class, we had a guest speaker from EA.

Cool guest speaker

Deal. What next? Pool noodles?

I like shorts. They're comfy and easy to wear.

A white van and some candy.
