I'm a stubborn guy. I love to argue my opinion, but unlike others, I'll try to see your side of the problem. I'm a triathlete, with a very heavy empephis on the swimming bit. Also, don't hate on the ~Quinton~ at the end of my posts. Why are you still reading this? #creeper #hashtagcashmoney for hashtaging on Bungie.net

Does Bungies have a filter or something of the such that tags suspicious usernames so mods can have a head start on trolls.

Example: A person creates a profile called lulzifatrted69bf3blows and a messages is sent out to mods to watch for this persons behavior on the forums.

If Bungie doesn't have this, how would it work and is it even possible?

Positive vibes.

I do not believe they currently have a filter, but having one doesn't sound like such a bad idea.

Then again, Bungie can't really assume anything. For example, there was someone who made several alternative accounts and went around flaming me e.g. posting a link to a particular YouTube video, commenting rudely towards me, and in a few cases, posing as me.

Ended up messaging a Forum Ninja, and each time the accounts were permanently banned, but never immediately. They had to post something in the Public Forums in order for a Moderator to make a final decision.

Do you get what I am saying?

:-)

Well, here we are. I guess that it was destined to come to this.

I've seen more than a few member names that if I were to assume, I would have guessed that they were accounts made with the goal of forum disruption.

Fortunately, I didn't assume, and the members participate and enjoy the forums, despite their name which I could have easily pre-judged them on.

That doesn't mean that any/every new account is completely neutral as far as their name, but forum posts trump username in all but the most extreme poorly chosen names.

You imply a level of control over Halo: Reach matchmaking that we no longer have. Or, in your vernacular, it isn't our shiznit anymore.

I don't think members should be judged by their usernames; I don't see much of a difference from a Ninja getting notified that an offensive username was created from a post multiply reported.
