"Find where the liar hides, so that I may place my boot between his gums!" - Rtas 'Vadum

SIII's are given a drug that causes the frontal lobe (I believe) to have lower function, allowing SIII's to take many more bullets before dieing. It also causes their emotional level to be unstable which is why Lucy went into a rage when she got frustrated and mad at Halsey.

Traviss even describes what it's like for Lucy to into a blinding rage so you know what's caused it.

Hmm. Only Gamma Company received these frontal lobe alterations. Lucy was from the near-annihilated Beta company. Is that explained?

I'm still confused on the reasoning behind Halsey's arrest. Is it to keep her under a tighter leash because of her alterior motives in going to Onyx or is it that Parangosky feels that she needs to pay for her actions in the spartan program? I know that the admiral doesn't have a lot of time left, but it seems like a waste to let Halsey rot in a cell when she could be working on projects to strengthen the UNSC.

I still feel dumb for skimming through the book and posting that rant in the other thread, Roberto was right to call me out on that. Having read the book more thoroughly it's not as bad as I was ranting about. It's still not great, but it does have some good parts; the Admirals speech on keeping secrets was surprising and was one of her few redeaming qualities she displayed in the book. Kilo 5 and the elite sub-plot is kind of boring. I was generally hoping for a bit more action in this book.

Is anyone starting to the think the Shield World could be the planet Chief is heading towards in the Halo-4 trailer? I know 343 has said in the past that the legendary planet wasn't Onyx, but technically the Shield World isn't either. With the Ark destroyed, I'd think the UNSC would be making this thing it's main point of interest, considering what they could find there and if any Covenant loyalist trying to fire any of remaining Halos Humanity has something it can take shelter in and actually survive a firing.
