Most star wars fans hate George Lucas. Mara Jades death has to happen, she writes based on reality its not like all heroes die with a bang, many are actually ridiculled and some just die off pathetically. Everyone hated it but it did make the story good and intresting.

Also i was not saying that anyone was a fanboy what i was saying was that the story was written really well in a narrative point of view although she could have toned done the polarization of the characters.

My main problem is that everyone is looking at this story like its as horrible as reach and it isn't it does not have any canon breaks the only mistake it makes is change the characters personality to much although that must happen. Remember Lord of the Rings Frodo turns from someone kind to one who will kill anyone who dares touch the ring. As well as Boromir who lost control of himself, and when coming to understanding what he did changed for the good and for self sacrifice.

Her story writing style was amazing and she might have needed some extra input from 343i to understand the scope of the universe and how it was to work. Also remember life is full of BS its a dissapointment. Have you ever expected something to turn out good but having your hopes diminished. Its life and the most pathetic end is sometimes the best.

You're really like Avu Med Telcam, alex.

Not really. And I suppose you think you're trying to irritate me by using my name, right? yeah, it's not working, your insolence already does that...

Reach story was really bad until 343 industries fixed it.

No, Reach is still a terrible story regardless of whether its canonical errors have been fixed. Plugging a few holes up doesn't change the abysmal characters, what can laughably be called plot and everything else.

And the spartan-IIIs had their frontal lobe altered so... Yeah.

Only Gamma Company had that augmentation and it only started to have an effect on them when put under considerable duress.

Star wars[...]writes based on reality

Pick one. If a character is a fan favourite, or even just a good character, they deserve a good death. Jade did not have to die, a writer could have found a way around it.

How are you not getting that that isn't the point? The point is that its story sucked, regardless of whether it fits with canon or not.

I'm not talking about those special augmentations, I'm talking about the frontal lobe on all the spartan-IIIs.

The story and characters might not have been the best but it makes sense now and I can now enjoy it.

You've called me it twice... The least you could do is show some kind of courtasey to me, but no, as is common with people on the internet the majority of you people exist only to sit in your caves to try your very best to piss others off (only to fail and look like an idiot).

Reach's story line makes sense.

Yeah, because it's so blissfully simplistic I suspect even a 5 year old could understand the basic plot synopsis of moving from area A to B to press a switch. And a story that makes sense doesn't make it a good story.

What is your source for only gamma? Lucy had her frontal lobes altered.

Lucy did not have her frontal lobe augmented, you are thinking of Holly. Go and read Ghosts of Onyx again, pages 102 and 107.

Your responses to anyone who dislikes Glasslands seem to revolve around these 5 principles:
- "You don't understand."
- "People don't like Traviss but they're all wrong."
- "If you don't like Glasslands then your opinion is wrong."
- "You're jumping to conclusions about it."
- "It's your assumptions that are wrong, not Traviss, she's perfect!"

That's all I'm reading here...

I understand everyone elses problem but yours is mainly fanbase you attacked but never use a single reason as to why it was wrong and what he should look at. The others that are criticizing her have given their explanation and that is amazing.

Also this story was not as big as a fail as Reach was but everyone is acting this way, i do not get it. Why is it such a fail, there is no canon break the only problem is that some of the characters are overdramatized and some people are losing control of themselves remember war takes a toll on people by making them become insane a little bit or lose any way of thinking.

This is the most terrible war you nearly lost evreything but were saved at the nick of time, you could have died whats the use of surviving, all these things start affecting those who were there from the beginning and the Spartan project was one that tore people apart over if it was right. Yes they saved the human race but their purpose was to quell the rebellion and when mendez stood back and saw their purpose of being built he may be horrified how he let something like this to happen, a little stupid reason to start a project.

I do not really think that the data drops were meant to fix Reach's story as much as they were to demonize ONI and Parangosky; to paint them as reckless before Glasslands.

I still view Halsey the same way, some characters in the book don't view her the same way. This book is about perspectives...

Er... what? You apparently missed this, but just to add to that.

The whole "HALSEY IS GUILTY" thing was overdone to the point where you couldn't go a single chapter without someone mentioning that they hate Halsey...

Karen went out of her way to make as much of a fuss about Halsey's "war crimes" as possible. She was trying to make literally everyone hate her, she mentioned what a terrible person she was whenever the opportunity came (sound familiar? Yeah, when I said she'd be completely demonised, guess who was right!). She overdid that aspect completely.

She even introduced these random ODSTs that we have never met before seemingly with the sole purpose of providing more hate for Halsey, like that was their real mission? After supplying the Sangheili dissidents, they'd just get in their HATE ship and fly over to the Micro HATE Sphere and start HATEing on Halsey...

Lets all ignore that Halsey's crimes saved humanity from extinction. "SHE WAS BAD AND YOU ALL SHOULD FEEL BAD FOR LIKING HER," was the message I got from the oh so wonderful authour who spent more time putting RvB jokes in the book than focusing on making a good story. IMO Karen focused too much on what SHE wanted to write about, and not so much the Halo universe needed.

So, prepare to suspend disbelief everyone, we'll ignore that 2 months ago humanity was on the brink of extinction, and lets ignore the mystery and grandeur of the Forerunner Shield World they just found, HALSEY IS BAD. The UNSC can recover the losses of 23 billion deaths, hundreds of colonies (etc etc) in a matter of months, the important thing to remember is that HALSEY IS BAD.

There's even a bit where Halsey is being interrogated that the text at the top specifying the location says "by Installation 03", so they found another Halo but it's never mentioned... Know why? Because HALSEY IS BAD!

Oh, and don't get me started on how utterly retarded the characters are... Every likeable person Nylund introduced has been convoluted and turned into either the antichrist him(or rather, her)self...

I don't care if it's not as big of a fail as Reach was, it was still an abysmal story. It's not about canon, it's about how every character Halsey writes either has to be some mentally depressed psychopath or full of hate for someone... I want to read a Halo book, not something where all the characters may as well be slitting their wrists.

What are you going on about? This is completely irrelevant, are you trying to justify why everyone in the post-Halo 3 universe is depressed? This is Halo, not Twilight...

Don't like that? Boo hoo.

Sure they're "canon" but that doesn't mean I have to support them, their existence, or the continued careers of their respective writers.

Its life and the most pathetic end is sometimes the best.

I don't believe it was the best for this series, not so soon after the end of a 27 year long war that nearly pushed humanity into extinction. No, I expected the survivors both Elite and human to basically take a deep breath and begin the road to recovery and reconstruction, not try and keep the embers of conflict hot.

Before Glasslands we never really saw ONI front and center. We only saw Halsey and people working for ONI. Their characterization was quite minimal. Traviss could have developed them in almost any direction. She could have made them nice guys who are forced to make hard decisions again and again, and because of this they they grow callous. But nope, she just hands ONI the idiot ball.

We are all going to get banned aren't we?

I have still yet to understand how the hell the UNSC was able to unlock forerunner tech in a mere two months without halsey or cortana.

From what i remember it took Halsey more than 20 years to put shields on Mjolnir by reverse engineering jackal shields.
Yet the UNSC can reverse engineer Forerunner technology (which Halsey is the expect and doesn't know much) without halsey, cortana, or even Anders in under 2 months?

So it took over 20 years to understand mere covenant shields with halsey and a wartime economy. Yet two months to understand AND apply forerunner slipspace mechanics to a UNSC ship without halsey and with a "Failing" economy?

You have to be completely stupid to say that nothing is wrong with that. The UNSC doesn't even know how exactly how covenant weaponry works. So how can they jump to understanding forerunner slipspace 3 months after the war?

Karen clearly F***ed up with that. Along with the idea of the UNSC and elites going to war withing the next 30 years or so. Because ONI is obviously going to exterminate the elites from what glasslands has going.

Now i fully understand why Starwars and Gears fans dislike her.
