I'm not talking about those special augmentations, I'm talking about the frontal lobe on all the spartan-IIIs.

The story and characters might not have been the best but it makes sense now and I can now enjoy it.

Where has it ever said all Spartan III's got the frontal lobe changed?

I believe it requires a certain level of inteligence to understand the book.

And if you think the book makes sense you clearly don't have that "intelligence" seeing how you can't even spell the word.

ONI being in so much control does not make sense

ONI proving the Elites suspicion correct and planning to wipe them out does not make sense.

ONI starting ANOTHER spartan program 3 months after the war is over along with mark 7 does not make sense. Especially since 1 suit of mark V alone cost a BATTLEGROUP. Can you imagine how much hundreds of suits of Mark 7 would cost?
The UNSC needs more ships, colonies, money and technology than spartans right now. There is no reason to have some massive army on standby then tell the elites "oh we are just friends".
All of that money could be used to making more forerunner based ships and rebuilding planets with forerunner/covenant tech.
Since the Elites are in no shape to fight the military really isn't need right now; the coast guard should replace the damn military as of now.

If ONI really wants a pointless army how about making the S-III injections military standard, improve the SPI armor, make standard training ODST brutal; That would be far better and efficient than other zillion dollar spartan program that is "so bad" yet not bad enough to stop.

ONI really needs to be disbanded since the interest are not for the best of humanity.

They didn't. Project chrysanthemum wasn't for all of the S-IIIs

Glasslands.
If I take my book and search for frontal lobes, it says takes me there.

No, I said I believe also.

But it's mostly a big majority of you guys.

If you say the book doesn't have issues your crazy or not breaking things down.

This is coming from somebody that "just got back" to bungie and was all excited after hearing karen talk about glasslands. But right now i don't even want master chief to appear in the novels she does.

The data drops are data drops. Not Glassland preparation drops.

The sudden 180* turn in ONI's behavior recently in both media are hard to dismiss.

Before Glasslands we never really saw ONI front and center. We only saw Halsey and people working for ONI. Their characterization was quite minimal. Traviss could have developed them in almost any direction. She could have made them nice guys who are forced to make hard decisions again and again, and because of this they they grow callous. But nope, she just hands ONI the idiot ball.

They went from a possibly semi-legit intel group with a FEW dark secrets (spartans mainly), but for the greater good. No retarded evil plots.

Then glasslands potrayed them as a blatant Mass effect Cerberus rip off. I mean, hell even the descriptions are the same!

"Very few people know who the head of ONI is, but all fear her."

Or maybe it requires a certain perspective and imagination that some don't have.

Point is, I was very impressed and I really want to read it again, problem is, it took me so long to read it the first time!

I should start my homework on Doctor Halsey.
Karren did a fantastic job for my homework.
Since I have Kobo, I can just search for the parts I want to read.

Insurectionists, they're already researching more forerunner, specially thanks to those three engineers and they're at 03.
ONI being in so much control makes sense.

They want to keep the elites on their knees so they don't rise against the humans again.

Hey, with that, the UNSC could come in and save the sangheili and BAM! The Sangheili start trusting them and relationships increase.

I have still yet to understand how the hell the UNSC was able to unlock forerunner tech in a mere two months without halsey or cortana.

From what i remember it took Halsey more than 20 years to put shields on Mjolnir by reverse engineering jackal shields.
Yet the UNSC can reverse engineer Forerunner technology (which Halsey is the expect and doesn't know much) without halsey, cortana, or even Anders in under 2 months?

So it took over 20 years to understand mere covenant shields with halsey and a wartime economy. Yet two months to understand AND apply forerunner slipspace mechanics to a UNSC ship without halsey and with a "Failing" economy?

You have to be completely stupid to say that nothing is wrong with that. The UNSC doesn't even know how exactly how covenant weaponry works. So how can they jump to understanding forerunner slipspace 3 months after the war?

Karen clearly F***ed up with that. Along with the idea of the UNSC and elites going to war withing the next 30 years or so. Because ONI is obviously going to exterminate the elites from what glasslands has going.

Now i fully understand why Starwars and Gears fans dislike her.

I agree with you that this is the most major concern of the story which superseded the problem of Halsey's characterization.

There must be a reason why, did unlocking the jackel shield which is based on forerunner tech helped them unlock the door to forerunner tech. Did it make the scientist everywhere to recheck their research and did they try to explain problems with the help of A.I.s.

Remember that before einstein no one understood anything that was happening based on his theories. The moment he found an explanation all hell broke loose they rechecked their data redid everything and moved forward at an increasing rate. Remember that whenever you hit a new technological barrier like the idea of E=mcsquare, everyone stops and tries to understand why does the current info observe go against everything they believe.

The moment you discover something like E=mcsquare(also the equation is quite longer this is based on a stationary object.) The flood doors open and everyone tries to understand it and once everyones up to speed the research done is easier to do. Which is why the nuclear reaction progress has moved so fast. That barrier of confusion from Newtons law proved that there was something going against his law. And discovery hit a standstill or a slowpoint.

The moment Einstein proved and published his theory all the other theory were tested on this and they understood it was right and soon technologies moved at a really high speed that now we can make technologies that are beyond imagination.

Discovering something new is harder but using that knowledge to create new things is easier. What Halsey did was what Einstein did, was to discover a reason why then use this research as now people don't need to ask why but how to use it in other fields.

Remember Newtons Law was not usefull for science in the 1900,s as it was hampering it, and when einstein brought his theory forward it destroyed Newtons law, and yes Newtons law is not true, as it is only true to the extent of normal things we do everyday. Einstein theory brought a wave of ideas that revolutionized our world forward. Our world is moving fast but when it starts slowing down because we have a problem we will need a discovery like the one Halsey did for the next flood door of knowledge to open.

We should know better, because we are better.

What you say is true, but remember Covenant tech is different from Forerunner tech. While the Covies do base their tech off the Forerunners ghetto not fully understand it. Their religious beliefs hamper complete understanding. For humans to understand Forerunner tech from Covie tech, it would be like someone from before Einstein's E=MC2 looking at an imperfect nuclear reactor and learning how to make a vastly better reactor even though they have never heard of E=MC2 and half the theories revolving around it are incomplete.

You can not compare weakly reversed engineered shields to slipspace mechanics. You can't do something "minor" in 20 years and do something extremely advanced in 3 months.

Well it was a key and the other forerunner objects were also being studied so someone else may have found a different key to it. This may have been a simple key that helped out everyone.

Overall there was alot of research going on not only Halsey was doing them but many others and someone may have learnt of a way to understand them, remember we have not got info on every scientist and if i believe correct Halsey is not the only greatest scientist out there, there are many other.

Also comapnies like to bring a new product so they may have used their scientist to do as much study before hand. Remember implenting the shield and understanding how it works was hard but breaking down and understanding a huge forerunner structure that has been laid out for humanity as a gift is easier. Humans could have got the info from some forerunner structure which released the data to them.

Remember this book does not dwelve into these matters but somewhat gives hints to it.

You are right but i am here trying to find reasons and theories why and how it works, yes its incomprehensible but there has to be a reason.

For me the fastest way they found another shield planet like halo wars, found new ships left for them in the open with amazing tech and they got research material and a whole library of "Forerunner tech for idiots" or "How to make your own Forerunner based ship" etc. etc. Maybe they got an info from some ai construct etc.

Hey, with that, the UNSC could come in and save the sangheili and BAM! The Sangheili start trusting them and relationships increase.

They fail. Hood and Thel, they fail.

The Return is set 6 years after this book and the Sangheili are still having issues with technology and their society. That Ship Master also expresses the wish to torture an injured Human for information that he might not even have, in an attempt to steal whatever Forerunner relic that Humanity were trying to claim there.

They evidently fail, and both sides look as if they go back to being malignant to each other.

Edit: Perhaps the Return was a warning sign of 343i's post Halo 3 canon...

It has been established Usain Bolt is the fastest man ever but that won't stop someone from beating him and breaking his record.

Remember there may be other people out there young and putting all their efforts into this because they have alot more energy and they will make sure they will not fail as they want to save thier families and humanity.

Halsey may be getting old and thinking slower, remember she is a granny by now and she could end up loosing her memory from using her brain too much. Plus our knowledge may have increased because some new group of kids put their mind together and found an answer.

Judging from this, I wouldn't be surprised if that story gets retconned in one of the later books.

They may fail in changing peoples mindset as it is hard to do, and no one trust each other as the war is still a painfull reminder but it does not mean that they are peacefull and war is not occuring, maybe humanity is living in peace and within the next couple of generation old wounds will clean off.

remember old habits die hard.

What have you to offer, nothing all you are doing is complaining, i on the other hand am trying to find an answer and a theory that works. That is how progress is made.

Grey on the other hand my other opponent in this argument has some valid points and i understand his annoyance as it has a true fact. Stories are there to get interest what Grey is questioning is reality. We have a good argument going and we are moving back and forth. Yes we may not come to consent but at least we understand that we have to solve this problem.
