Subject: Rule question

This isnt really about any individual rule, but I really don't see how this is rule breaking at all.

No discussion value. Pointless. Locked.

Case and point: don't worry about it. Girls start getting boobies pretty soon, and then you'll have plenty of other things to think about. Being an Inheritor is not a life goal.

The thread had no discussion value. There is a rule against threads that require a one-liner response, if that rule is still there.

People would just post things like, "In the middle". Not much to discuss.

That rule is still in place. It's considered spam.

Anyone but Foman. He smells like cheese.

"Do not post off-topic in any forum or thread."

"The Flood Forum is Bungie.net's off-topic forum, and is for all discussions that abide by all other forum rules but do not fit within any of the above forums."

"The Bungie Community Forum is for all topics directly related to the Bungie community itself, the Bungie.net community, and the Bungie.net website."

This thread, besides being a silly, spammy hypothetical with no point, is about the Bungie.net forums and the Bungie.net community (specifically, the Flood community). Regardless of the thread's "discussion value" (which is debatable, but not the reason the thread was locked), the thread is on-topic for the Community Forum only.

Would it have been locked had it been placed properly?

So... I could make a thread asking the bungie community where they would stand in a picture if it was in the community forum?

  • 10.27.2011 5:18 PM PDT

No viable discussion, would constitute a one-liner response

Spam or/and Off-Topic.

I would assume so, since it only requires a one word response. It desoen't really encourage discussion.

w8. so your saying that wouldn't have been locked if it was posted in the community forum? that sounds ridiculous to me, while it had the "community" as a subject in its question, the thread itself was off-topic and should have remained in the flood forum.
Are you saying if anything is related to some sort of Bungie community, it should be asked in the community forum.
i.e Bungie Universe thread saying:
If the Bungie Universe community could be any Halo character for Haloween what would they be,
^that would get locked because it should have been placed in the Community forum, Solely because it referenced about some sort of community???
Regardless of the thread's "discussion value" (which is debatable, but not the reason the thread was locked), the thread is on-topic for the Community Forum only.
I kind of feel like your using this as an excuse to get around the "debatable" portion of the locking of this thread.

He said on another thread that it was a slip of tongue or keyboard, and that one slip-up doesn't change the forums.

Hi I'm RT and I like to argue!

Why do you people defend dumb threads?

What's an appropriate response to that? "On the left?" Great discussion/entertainment value there, more of this please. >.>

All was shattered, and all but memory lost, and one memory above all others, of him who brought the Shadow and the Breaking of the World. And him they named Dragon.

Because the mods must be torn down at all costs. Nevermind the thread was horrible. Fight the oppression!

Why do some people see any sort of questioning at all as whining or flaming?

The problem here is that Foman is saying the thread didn't get locked based off of it's poor discussion value. and is trying to blame something else.

Idk, I feel the whole mod discretion thing is just a little too random when it comes to the flood's stupid threads, or forum games, some explode into hot topics, some float down to the bottom and dont do harm, and some get locked right off the bat.

I was going to post a thread somewhat like this, except the locked thread actually seemed valid. I genuinely thought that the thread I planned on creating would benefit the community in some way, but I've just had my eyes opened.

If I go to another board and see a thread with no discussion value locked I don't post and demand an explanation why it was locked. I just accept that it was locked and appreciates that it leaves more room for the good threads.

Take it from me.

Don't make a thread about it. It won't end well.

So you admit it had poor discussion value. You even imply that it's stupid:

I did not demand why. I was curious, because I didnt know what rule it was violating. Sorry im so demanding.

Oh, sorry. I wasn't talking about the OP here at all. I should have pointed that out. It was just trying to make a point out of raad face's post, which RT seems to already have done here in this thread.

Why do some people see any sort of questioning at all as whining or flaming?
Nobody said flaming. Putting words into people's mouths to push forward an agenda (however minuscule in terms of actual legitimacy AS an agenda) about how people are exaggerating when disagreed with is not only out of place but inappropriate for this discussion. It has nothing to do with Qb's obviously sarcastic post, nor the thread. Not tryna cop you, but it seems like you're attempting to pick a fight about something not being discussed nor displays in he quoted post. Just my opinion. Sorry for the rant.

OT: that thread honestly had zero discussion value and, as pointed out by Foman, (though admittedly not a point I would have thought to have made without seeing him make it), was in the wrong wrong forum anyway.
