CEA, H4, and the simultaneously being released Halo material indicates a greater focus on campaign/Halo lore, the way Halo was meant to be.
Well, we hope.
Nothing is stopping 343i from making H4 squeal to reach gameplay-wise, and HCEA is the easiest game to make, just copypasta from HCE and Reach.True. If we see worsened friendly AI or they remain unchanged from Reach and the enemy AI still have cheap advantages, 343 will lose my support/purchases.
To accommodate for friendly AI in Halo 2 having shields/not stumbling from shots like in CE, they reduced their AI, particularly, their responsiveness to grenades and such. It was improved in H3, but in Reach, it was an absolute disaster:
-take too long to get in vehicle
-take too long turning to swap weapons
-get shot down in seconds on Legendary
-friendly fire against player and each other occurs a lot whereas in Halo 2 and Halo 3, friendly fire was most of the time the latter
Whereas enemies:
-do too much damage
-nearly all Elites seem to share the same stun time and shield recharge rate
-way too fast melee. I drop out of nowhere, they just run up to me and beat me down like they were never surprised
-focus on the player more
-concussion rifle wielders do a lot of damage with it whereas player can't do -blam!- with it. And their projectile speed increases the higher the difficulty
-Jackals are too buffed

well actually the main reason for reach being so bad is the fact that the main designers and writers left the company now if they would have had those writers and designers from CE-3 then reach might have actually been goodWhat kind of designers? Gameplay? Graphics? All of them? What does their leaving tell us? Doesn't it mean they lost interest/motivation? So would it really matter if they didn't leave?
