By the power of truth, I, while living, have conquered the universe.

I'd probably say Harvest.

Do you mean Harvest overall or a specific "Battle of Harvest"?

Overall because there were multiple campaigns to retake it, one of which lasted 5 years.

They come now... and they take us... the tide rises.

And Reach?

Yes but the resourced used in that campaign are significant.

Siege of Atlas Moons? Is a UNSC victory yes?
Or Ballast, Minister, Mamore, New Harmony or more Sigma Octanus IV Groombridge 1830? These are all victories of UNSC right?

That is incorrect. Fighting began on Reach in late July. It officially fell on August 30th.

The Fall of Reach says it fell in a day, Halo Reach says to lasted from July to August. It depends which you consider to be more canon out of the two.

Actually the real battle may have taken a day the little skirmishes took that long, and were not considered battles.

They are both canon. They both fit. It began in july ended in august 30th. But let's just stop the argument about reach okay. No flame wars please.

I wasn't arguing, no one was. I was just saying that Reach falling in one day was canon as well as the fact that the skirmishes that took place before the invasion started in July.

A battle is different from a skirmish, and a battle is a huge scale warfare whereas most of the time there were skirmishes. The War is the overall view of it.

Reach lasted for at least a month (kind of depends on when you regard the battle as starting). There were small and large skirmishes from the 24th of July up to August 12th when the mission Tip of the Spear takes place and the real hard fighting broke out. Then Reach officially fell on August 30th.

The book is superior in canon, it always has. Actually, the Battle FOR Reach didn't actually begin until the 14th of August when the main fleet of 241 ships arrived with the UNSC fleet arriving just a few minutes after and the defense fleet moving into position. Anything prior were simply skirmishes and small battles, nothing major.

The real battle was between Aug. 14-31.

The only problem I see in this is why ONI let a Supercarrier and several corvettes enter the system just for Operation: RED FLAG, they could have destroyed that ship with their SMAC's and 100+ ships already defending the planet and then would have set up for an invasion against the full force of the Covenant, it wasn't the UNSC's fault, it was ONI's. They could have won...
