Well when I make Invasion maps (which i do a lot) I like making a scenario or base it on a story (Ex. Alpha Bridge from ODST). Then you find a great placement, maybe paradiso or alaska. You always want the spawning not to close to the objectifs. You should always add aesthetic details, like buildings, aircraft, ect... Then make sure its very interactive, maybe you can have a assault phase, where the attackers have to blow a bridge or wall. Use techniques like invasion gates, weapons, vehicles To make it look like their is blown up part or a whole with wreckage around it that will spawn with invasion weapons. After that add buildings. When u make the core spawn, make sure their is a building accompanying it. Don't leave it out in the open. Make sure their is not to many power weapons or vehicles. Lastly add cover for each phase. With what ever money u have left, add maybe lights or special effects,
Ps: If u do put a banshee, counter its super over power with either a rocket hog, a flacon, or for a huge map MAYBE A SCORPION. Be careful for putting Gauze hogs, scorpion and banshees. They cause many people to rage quit.
