I meant there's definitely not that many active members. I agreed with you.

Definitely not. There's probably about as many active Members as Snipes said were all members.

What are you saying definitely not to? I said there's definitely not 11 million active users, not that there isn't a lot of active users on bungie.net. The number of active accounts on bungie.net is probably miniscule compared to the absent and deleted accounts.

Technically, neither of you are right.
Going off of MemberID/UID only tells you the total amount of accounts there has ever been.
As we all know, some of those accounts have been deleted.

I guess there isn't really a reliable way of counting current members.
I'm fairly sure that's wrong as well, otherwise everyone's memberID and uID would be the same (which they're not).

It's likely that at some point (ie. a forum upgrade) that one became the actual ID (see: Primary Keys), and the other an obsolete/deprecated ID.

So I'd put forth that anybody claiming to know the actual count cannot possibly know the exact number (except for the web team of course).

I know. I forgot that accounts used to get deleted. So, nobody can actually say how many there are?

Also, please lock this (before Snipes quotes you).

We should interrupt Achronos coffee break and force him to tell us?

Oh, look, someone quoted the mod with no legitimate questions or even a comment related to the thread. Shocker.

Case and point: don't worry about it. Girls start getting boobies pretty soon, and then you'll have plenty of other things to think about. Being an Inheritor is not a life goal.

He was making a joke, and your post as well adds nothing to the conversation.

They may not be accurate as to finding out he exact number, but it's the best way I can think of to finding a good number.

Don't mean to be Off Topic, but you really need to get over this idea that everyone that quotes a mod is trying to suck up. Honestly, you'll make no friends if you piss everyone off.

Bungie.me only works if people are registered on it. The number the CrazzySnipes provided is incorrect.
We've established that. :(

Whoops, sorry mate. Guess I should skim through the responses a little more ;)

'Sall right. Also, in case a member of the web team happens to wander through this thread at any time, as an added (admittedly VERY little) thing to consider for the New H4WTNESS, maybe a Member # on your Profile Page? Perhaps either between your member title and your "Last Active" date or adjacent to your join date?

cars, girls & cake all day everyday

Achronos is quoted in saying it was shut off "a few months ago" which he said in April or something, so I would think he meant around the beginning of 2011 or end of 2010, not July of 2010.

If only he'd show up and tell us the answer...I'm a bit curious too.
Posted by: Revelata Secreto
Well, the deletion feature was turned off by the time CrazzySnipes got here, and his UID is 8,661,033, which means there's already at least 2 million user profiles that haven't been deleted.

We miss you Logan.
Ask any question. I'll help with anything on site or off.

Calm down no need to argue here. Also if you don't wan't the thread locked, remove "please lock" from the thread title.

But if the deletion was turned off in early 2011 and it took one year of inactivity for an account to be deleted it would mean that all of the accounts created after the same date in 2010 would still exist, well before CrazzySnipe55 got here.

BCS, ACS.

(Before CrazzySnipe), (After CrazzySnipe)

Might as well just make it an official standard of time keeping at this point. :P

Duardo: This thread is locked for being stupid.

Foman: I see absolutely no reason, either theoretical or practical, that this is not a superb idea. Excellent work, my friend.

You sir, are an arrogant little wad of goat turd(screw -blam!- filter). I understand you are new, but show some respect or, barring that, decency. Somehow you have managed to insult anyone who disagrees with you while making assertions that you have absolutely no way of being sure of. Grow up.

On topic, I believe it was decided that the 'active' user count was around 6 million a few months back. Don't quote me on it since I'm not sure, but that's what my memory tells me. I'll see if I can find it again.

lol troll moar kid.

OT, tho: I honestly think that there can't have been more than 1-2 million who have been flat out deleted. So probably around 9 mil at my best estimate.
