Quite the read. A few things have puzzled me though.

Why have ONI developed a Spartan IV program using only adults? I thought the whole point of using children was because they're more effective.

I may of been reading incorrectly, but apparently MK VI MJOLNIR armour has the ability to upgrade itself? (Is that how they're explaining MC's new armour in Halo 4?) It also begs the question would it upgrade itself the the MK VII (I'm almost certain it's mentioned it's MK VII) that Naomi has.

Project Infinity intrigues me too. Sucks not many details were given.

What did you think of the book?

To be more like the Orion program and give Osman something more, clean.

Maybe, it did say it upgrades armour in cryo.

A teaser, in the halo 4 wall at halo fest, there was a ship called Infinity, concept art.

I think the Spartan IVs are adults, like Spartan 100 said, to give Osman a cleaner slate, and maybe because medical technology has advanced sufficiently to the point where kids simply aren't needed. You can have more Spartans more often with adult volunteers--especially after the Chief's heroics, everyone's going to want to be a Spartan for Halloween.

They did say the mk. VI has some nano tech in it that allows for self upgrades; to what extent is unknown, but its implied to be limited.

All we know about Infinity is the ship's Captain, the SIVs are on it, and that it will almost definitely be in Halo 4, as per concept art for it. Glasslands 2 might reveal more.

Rather than explain major details like that, Karen opted to spend those pages instead ranting about what a terrible person Halsey is.

Seriously, seemingly half the book is about people talking about how Halsey is the devil.

She spent one paragraph casually mentioning details fans WANT to know about like new armor and such, but instead of going into any detail, HALSEY IS BAD AND YOU SHOULD FEEL BAD.

Not a bad read, and it progresses the story nicely, I just find it focused too much on stuff I don't need to read 50 times.

I thought it was good.

What was interesting was that the Engineer said something about the Forerunners being in the Citadel. What does that mean exactly?

I remember that too.

Though I don't think he means it like that. I think he thought the Forerunner were coming back to ONYX or something..

Or the Legendary Planet is known as the Citadel, which would make sense, since Bias said he was sending Chief to the Forerunners, and then the Engineers said the Forerunners were in some place called the Citadel...

Or maybe the Forerunners decided to pop a visit into the Mass Effect universe and see if there's any fish in the Presidium lakes yet? :P

OT: It could indeed mean that, a Citadel is typically a fortress that is used in defense during attack or siege - which could also point to the Legendary Planet being a Shield World.

If it is, things could get quite interesting for the MC in Halo 4.

Old GTs; RebelRobot, Flamedude

So is this book worth reading? Or is it just another book that tarnishes and twists the Halo universe needlessly?

I just checked the book on amazon and it has a mediocre 3.5/5 rating from customer reviews, and some of those reviews are pretty full on "This book is poor, and messes with the Halo world for no reason whatsoever".

It's worth reading. Definitely not the best book, but it's not the worst either.

Quite interesting and would explain in retrospect how the Chief's armor changed between H2 and H3 while being the same, and also sets up for a canon explanation for the changes that will be in H4.

But seriously...S4's? Come on...
Halo doesn't need to get a constant stream of Spartans to stay fun. I really dislike the idea of having yet another group of Spartans, in what seems like a really inferior program as well. Applying Spartan technology to ODST's and create a super-ODST regiment would have been better than another group of Spartans that get thrown in, but ultimatly are inferior and not quite as cool as the S2's.
Cut down on the constant stream of Spartans before it becomes laughing stock.

Any new installment in a series you know you enjoy is worth taking a look at for yourself. I haven't read it yet, and even though I don't know whether I'll really enjoy it or not, I'm going to get it anyway. I really don't care what the masses say about something, I take everything anyone says about something subjective with a grain of salt and wait to see/read/play the story in question before I pass any sort of judgements on it. So I think you should read it for yourself before you decide whether you agree with the people complaining about Glasslands or not.

I think the s4s won't be true spartans like 2s and 3s, i bet they will be like 1s...

Since it did say they were adults.

I believe they mention in the book it's Mark VII armor, and not mark VI.

However, as somebody said "Spartans are getting inflation. I do not approve."

I'd rather hear about Gamma company spartan 3's then Spartan IV's frankly. But those 300 spartans are left in canon limbo and never explained :/.
