I was recently on halo and was playing a nice game f CTF when my computer crashed. And when it restarted Mc Afee reported that there was a trojan on my pc. so I got rid of it and the path it took according to Mc Afee was through halo, Not the website I was on. so I'm wondering if it is possible for some one to hack you through Halo while you are playing onlin? if you know the answer then e-mail me at Electron910@cs.com. Please help

Speaking from experience on this forum, I can say that your case is unique. I haven't seen too many times when someone's gotten a trojan through playing Halo. Unheard of, to be honest.

Well, anyways, do this: Make sure McAfee is updated and run a full system scan of your computer. Clean that sucker out of your harddrive. Make sure McAfee eliminates Adware and spyware. Then make sure your firewall is updated and protected.

If you don't have any of these, the following should help. I use them on my computer, so they're all good.

Free firewall: This program lets you config it to allow Halo to connect to the Internet. It also does a good job of protecting your computer at no cost.

Free Antivirus: Your basic antivirus scanner. Receives updates through the internet.

Unless they get your IP and attempt (and manage) to make an unsolicitated connection, it is impossible to do what you described. I think.

Just to be clear, define hack, so we can tell you why it isn't possible based on the definition of hacking.

It is possible, but no hacker has the time nor the dedication to do so. Hackers are way overhyped by the media. See, for the majority of hackers, it takes a long time and more than a bit of stamina to do.

So, logically, why would a hacker get so pissed that he'd expend that much effort over a game? They could be using it elsewhere, on far bigger targets than one particular user in one particular game. Examples: breaking into company databases, crashing game MASTERSERVERS, etc, etc.

nawww, this happens all the time on other games, but has happened to me on halo once, Get AVG free, it's really good, as for suggesting Zonaalarm me15ter, bravo, but I say buy the advanced version, it is worth it.

Right. As I was saying, I haven't heard this happen through H1PC too often.

Someone once came onto my password protected game and told me to say thank you. I said plz leave. He left and when my friend came on I told him his name and he said hes a hacker. So I was playing and my friend said "shut down!!" what? "NOW!!" When I came back he said that he talked to him over xfire and said "Hes a gonner" Well I was nervous, I managed to get away from him.

I've never believed in hackers on Halo PC. I've never seen one and I don't think I will for a long time.

I had one encounter with a hacker. I was playing Custom Edition and saw one guy coming at me, so I took a sniper and it took 2 headshots to kill him. I thought he had OS, then when he spawned , I shot him again, and again it took 2 headshots. Since when do players in Halo spwan with OS? It was everytime, not just those two times. Funny part was he began to complain because I was spawn-killing him.

Well maybe since it as custom edition, someone could of modified that map to have people have overshields when they spawn, or it could of been a server mod or something.
