Subject: The Weekly Review (Week 4 10.30.11)

I acknowledge my user name is stupid. However, I promise I'm not.

Disclaimer: The latter is a lie.

Very informing post, OP. Thanks.

However, the interview was really not good. It was far too short, not very funny, not interesting and gave very barley any background on the the guy at all.

(Don't be put down though... practice makes perfect)

There was a time and character restraint holding it back this week. Generally, interviews are very short and not really meant to bring too much of the public persona of a user out into the light. For more info see: MrAwesomePizza

I lol'd at the absurd miscommunication that occurs whenever dibbs post something. Perhaps his brain is so highly evolved that he can no longer clearly communicate with lesser life forms, even among his own species.

What?

What is the point of interviewing someone if your intent isn't to gain more insight into the kind of person they are? If you aren't bringing some insight or depth into someone who I would otherwise just view as words on a page, you might seriously considering cutting the feature altogether.

"That's about all that can be said for plots, which anyway are just one thing after another, a what and a what and a what.

Now try how and why."

I must say that you've truly impressed me with your diligence when posting these updates. I wonder if we could ever get these posted on the front page if they take off well enough...

Come on Kangol, you sound like a robot. But yeah, I get what you're saying dibbs. Next week might be our last interview unless things go well.

@Helveck

Just an Average Joe...

Hm, I'd hate to be the dick here, but...

I don't see the point in this. Yeah, sure, it's something for the Members to look at and something for the organizers to do or keep themselves busy with, but really in truly this stuff is rather pointless.

What you've done is essentially created a forum topic listing withing a forum topic listing. The only time a format like this is seems logical is when there are multiple news stories from different outlets from all over the place, and so bringing them together within one area is extremely helpful and saves having to search anywhere beyond one site for a variety of news stories.

But all these topics and stories on this site, within this thread... are already on this site. Just outside of this thread. With little to no difference besides a quick summary of the topics themselves.

This sort have thing has been started time and time again, and people have been quick to abandon it, time and time again. So, I apologize for being critical, I mean no offense... Yet I couldn't help but observe and point out the redundancy to all this.

We do it for a few reasons. Some of us who are quite busy don't want to scroll through how many pages to find pertinent topics of the week. We like to chronicle them, providing information as well as a good laugh and a spotlight on a user.

As well, we've been doing this for a few weeks and had some great response. I'm sure once the Bungie weekly update comes back we'll stop. Until then, I don't believe there is anything wrong with a few members maybe, you know, doing something positive for once.

I acknowledge my user name is stupid. However, I promise I'm not.

Disclaimer: The latter is a lie.

Fair enough if time was an issue, but surely then the interviewer and machinimagames could have arranged to to this interview another time, which would be suitable for both people. Surely this would have produced a better quality interview.

Also 'character restraint' is not an issue whatsoever as a member of the group could have 'reserved' a post under the OP's.

What sort of -blam!- interviews have you been reading? Average Joes and the BWU did a brilliant job (for the most part) in their interviews, and with both I remember them being lengthy and gave the audience a better understanding of the person being interviewed.

I appreciate what you guys are doing here. It makes a change to see something positive on Bungie.net for once. I'm just sharing my opinions on the interview in the hope that improvements will be made for your audience.

Disclaimer: Sorry for any grammar and spelling mistakes. My laptop won't 'spell check' anything for me.

Kangol you just completely contradicted the point of the Interviews (lol). Sure, we were short on time, but that's still no excuse. Like I said earlier, next week we'll go all in or nothing.

Interviews need to go into more depth and be more descriptive. Other than that great work guys. It is both convenient and informative.
