I treat everyone as if they have the potential to be one of my friends playing on an alt. I give the benefit of the doubt, forgive betrayals, say "good game" if my mike is plugged in, and generally conduct myself in a respectful manner. Despite the fact that I'm somewhat anonymous and would face no repercussions 99% of the time if I chose to act otherwise.

Edit: I even keep my teabagging as tasteful as possible - generally only after a triple+ kill and at the end of a game where I have 20+ points.

I play Halo for a challenge, when the MM system feels up to giving me one. When it pukes out anything less, I end it as quickly as possible and try again. I'm here for some solid gameplay - not stomping on new kids and their guests.

I wish more people felt this way. It's a game, which means it should be fun for everyone, even people who aren't very good, don't have friends they can play with, or get screwed because some of their teammates quit.

I will always remember a game of Team Rockets I played in Halo 3 once where it was just me against four people. I lost, of course, but they were obviously taking it easy on me and even let me have the lead for part of the game. They still won, but I got to have a lot of fun, which wouldn't have been the case had they spent the entire game killing me.

We need more people like that.

Haha nice!
I dislike Rockets on Valhalla tho -_- some dude had an exterm one time on me and 4 friends with on rocket while we went in Mancannon -_- Sooooo LAME!!! yet Hilarious xD

The 343 forums suck. They're full of retarded kids and mods who got butthurt in the B.net forums for being told that they're bad.

I'd like to (as games are meant to be) have F.u.N

But the thing is, we have fun spawn trapping randoms. Why should our fun be taken away for the fun of some faceless gamertags that we'll never see again?

  • 10.30.2011 6:43 PM PDT

my team may spawn camp but i will try my best not to (hunting fowl with their wings clipped is not hunting)

This is exactly what I'm thinking when I dashboard vs a full party of boosters.

  • 10.30.2011 11:40 PM PDT

Depends.

I don`t play on a team, as in we have a name and all that.

I more so have 15btb people on my list who I will play with every now and then. When we have games that are like that, I don`t stat whore. I tend to dick around, text, have a smoke, or betray for fun.

Some teams are good and should just end it. But its Reach. Casuals vs Stat whores.

Oh yeah, since somebody does not believe what YOU believe; that makes us vapid...
I cannot grasp that what you call "Something happened to nothing, and that nothing became something, and it was smaller than than a period."

The full party boosters who spawnkill the other team should be banned from the IP.

  • 10.31.2011 12:06 AM PDT

The most common thing that happens when I'm running btb with a team is spawn trapping left and right which usually results in multiple players quitting from the other team.

Playing against 1-3 people isn't really fun for either party with us looking all over to find them and them dying constantly, so once it gets down to less than 4 people we just finish the game.

I guess you could call it mercy...

  • 10.31.2011 12:25 AM PDT

Your resident explosives and heavy ordinance expert, at your service.

Ehh mercy insomuch that I may stop hassling a target if he is in a bad position (low/no ammo, no shields, etc) and is no longer a threat, and a more opportune threat presents itself. I'll leave the helpless guy alone to take out a warthog that is bearing down on me, for example.

New Zealand is pretty much the best place in the world.

All the 'known' people will be spared and drive a warthog or camp in our base. Pretty much it, although some are kinder than others.

  • 10.31.2011 1:37 AM PDT

Nowadays we wont hold it on randoms, not because of morals or anything, just because its boring.

If its people we recognize or a full team, they get none until were bored.

There's a lot of talk in these forums about how people who spawn trap "show no mercy" and that they have no morals and whatever, which is completely ridiculous and those claims hold no merit. Nobody ever has to show mercy on an online game when the objective is to beat the other team.

However, are there people out there that DO show mercy, even in special cases?

I know that sometimes, if a guy on the other team has a mic and IS NOT a d-bag, my team will make an offer: if he gives us an asset (vehicle, power weapon, etc.) from his team, then we'll let him live and hide somewhere as long as he does nothing else against us. So far I haven't seen anybody follow through on that offer but my friends have had a few cases.

Does anybody actually show some mercy in games?

Yes and it was your buddies we showed mercy to. Why spawn kill when they don't deserve it?

Life is a journey, if you spend all of it with your nose in your map, you may miss some of the best parts.

Nope.

R.I.P. Halo 2 <33333333
Do not play halo much anymore. Barely ever come on here.

I never play with a full team but when i play with 2 or 3 friends we usually just kill everything, unless the enemy is tbagging or just chillin on a mongoose, then we let him live and kill our teammates.

Who would you care more about: someone who you might see on a near-daily basis, personally know and with whom you converse regularly? Or some random gamertag with no mic that you most likely will not run into again?

I treat everyone as if they have the potential to be one of my friends playing on an alt. I do. I don't spawn kill (Not on purpose anyway,) and I don't intentionally gang up on people. (Unless it's a game like Fat Kid (Infection) or something like that.)

They are not cheating, they are playing the game. They also arent full party boosting.

Typically we don't hold the objective. If we do, it's because of trash talking, t-bagging, or general arrogance displayed by the opposing team. Rarely will we hold for kills only, as that gets old after a while. But be warned, trash talking and t-bagging will result in 15 min. of sheer hell.

The few games I have played with you guys, I really liked the atmosphere that you all had; it was nice and easy-going.

And to whomever said that we need to be banned for boosting: You're retarded.

I kind of mostly do this now. I mean, we'll hold the objective until most people start quitting.

But if the three kids that trash talked before the game are the last three left, we got fifteen minutes and 30 seconds of spawn-killing Or until they quit, like in that game.
