If you could change any event that occurs in Halo, what would it be? E.g. Johnson dying

  • 10.30.2011 11:03 PM PDT

Have A Nice Day!

Commander, CammCam's Queensguard; Sapphire Mod; 34th Seat, Table of Avalon(Exiled);Captain, HAND

yolo? -blam!- that! YOLTOSS!! You Only Live Twice or Some -blam!-

Johnson dying is exactly what I would change. No need for it, especially after killing both Keyes.

  • 10.30.2011 11:08 PM PDT

I'd remove the event that turned ONI from a semi-legit group into a blatant Cerberus rip-off.

  • 10.30.2011 11:08 PM PDT

I would basically invalidate the whole fred linda kelly and halsey dissapearing to onyx thing. Or at least move it to after the events on the ark.

Basically, I think Halo 2 (or at least 3) would've been much more awesome if Linda Kelley Fred and Halsey were involved. Glasslands has told us that they are on earth again by the time the tribute cutscene in H3 happens anyways so...they'd all still end up in the same spot.

I just felt that things didn't come together for the characters in the universe for Halo 3. Instead of everyones paths crossing, they got further apart.

Since there are 3 months between the destruction of the ark and the tribute cutscene in H3, then there's the perfect window for all the events at onyx to still happen, a few minor details would have to be changed but H3 would have been much more climactic, IMO.

the part where people make books that completely change our age old view of the forerunners being the noble race that predated every other intelligent race and that the flood was extra galactic in origin.

-blam!- Was that actually blammed out? Or did I just type it? You'll never know.

Er... the only think that Cryptum changed were your preconceptions, there has never been any evidence saying they were noble other than the Covenant (and guess what, the Covenant religion was a LIE).

When in the world was the EVER said in canon? the only part that is correct is the extra galactic other than that you must have read a fan fic and thought it was fact.

In the past i would change MB moving to the flood and see how that would have affected the war.

During the Human- covenant war i would change the fact that the prophets "knew" of mans link to humanity. it would be interesting to see if we would have joined the covenant just cause (like the Kig-Yar) and see where we would end up military wise.

Post-war i would change the notion of ONI promoting a civil war and preparing for "if" the elites attacked. I would have it to were both races had a cease fire but there were still small hostility's between them.

We should know better, because we are better.

I would change Bias's programming.
if contact with FSC == true and FSC == weakened or FSC == docile:
-----contain unit for study
else:
-----KILL WITH FIRE
That little snippet could have changed so much.

3 years and only 1 ban, try harder next time noobs.

Keyes sacrificing herself, pelicans have rockets ya know.

  • 10.31.2011 4:19 PM PDT

YOU'RE STILL ALIVE?!?

I would change it so that Sam didn't die on that ship, and survived at least to the point of the battle of Reach.

This is the way the world ends,
This is the way the world ends,
This is the way the world ends;
Not with a bang but a whimper.

I'd keep Miranda Keyes alive.

Have the UNSC fight more passively and strategic. I also would change REACH, have the spartans leave for high charity BEFORE reach invasion

The Flood is intergalactic in origin..

The Forerunners were still a noble race. They did try to save the galaxy from the Flood remember? And in a somewhat suicidal way, they did (Though if they've all died out remains to be seen).

The UNSC was as strategic as one military organisation could be. It's just that the Covenant would throw thousands upon thousands of troops down upon them until they won - not caring about how many they lost.

Passively? A genocide is hardly a time to be passive. You need to strike back before more damage is done.

Actually, upon thinking about it, that's exactly the mindset ONI has in Glasslands. They don't want Humanity to be on its knees by the will of an alien ever again. They want to strike revenge in the alien races which killed billions of humans and become a powerful force in the Galaxy which can't be bullied.

I actually understand why ONI does what it does in Glasslands now. Like an epiphany as I'm writing. Kinda went off topic, but oh well.

Go in...kill....then.....TEA BAG!!!

not colonizing harvest.

  • 10.31.2011 11:34 PM PDT

Don't -blam!- with Kerser!

The humans allied with the covenant at harvest instead of starting a war!

I was a finalist :P

I would have liked to have seen an addition, rather than a change to an event. More specifically, the go ahead on killing the Prophet in Halo: CE on the level the Silent Cartographer (it was announced on the Legendary Bonus disc for Halo: 3). It was scratched in the final moments of the game.
