This goes for all of Bungie's future titles. (That have multiplayer.)

I think there should be an option at the end of each multiplayer match that will allow us to post "gg" nothing more, nothing less. It would ease the tension and hate towards other players after the end of some games and maybe we'll hear less, "U SUCK BK." and more, "Good game guys!"

Its just a simple gg the whole lobby will be able to see at the end of each game.

[Announcement Trailer] Halo: Forerunner

I lol'd at the absurd miscommunication that occurs whenever dibbs post something. Perhaps his brain is so highly evolved that he can no longer clearly communicate with lesser life forms, even among his own species.

I need to dehumanize my opponents in order to keep my competitive edge. Pleasantries seem out of place after having spent 20 minutes splattering their insides onto various surfaces.

Didact's Reprisal -
Now is the time of our unworlding
One final effort is all that remains
And I am not afraid
We shall fulfill our promise
We fight for the grace of the Mantle
And this time none of you will be left behind

This would only lead to folks trying to find a new way to use that acronym, I'm sure.

When the toasters broken Blame Stosh.
Dont let evilcam play a violin.
When everybody is reset to member blame urk.
When Achronos Honey is stolen blame Duardo
Dont tell oldpaparich to call you youngling, He prefers the term Whippersnapper

This would be more fitting for 343's upcoming titles
I am tired of hearing
"Shut up squeaker!"
"I FU--E-D YOUR MOM TEEHEE"
"You suck Throbbing @#!@ at Halo!
And of course.
"UMADBRO"

It's a nice idea, but I don't think it's going to change anything.
In conclusion, no. It just won't do anything.

If you want friendly games, play with a group.

My version of gg is to stick around the lobby to see if they'll pair up with me and my group.

Just an Average Joe...

Seems extremely pointless... Most people have microphones these days... so just say it. If not, I really don't think anyone will be more so or less affected by the observational statement of "gg".

Exactly. Why announce what we will already know?

  • 10.31.2011 6:24 AM PDT

Words of wisdom all around, but no one ever seems to listen. The words are all around but the words are only sound. But nobody seems to listen. Instead they'll say, "Well how could we of known?" I'll tell em, "It's really not so hard to tell. keep adding stones, and the water gets lost in the well."

Who would this improve anything at all? Unless I'm missing something this sounds a lot like the movie Equilibrium, use something artificial to force a smile on people's faces.

I don't view MM as the community.
The majority of people you have played against likely have never even heard of, let alone frequent B.net.

-blam!- Was that actually blammed out? Or did I just type it? You'll never know.

As long as there's also a "Bad Game," option.

The whole point is all you can select is gg, if you don't have anything nice to say then just don't use it.

This is also a way where people without mics can say something about the game and the people with mics may start to show better sportsmanship.

Dianna Agron is the epitome of perfection.

Quinntology.

And almost everyone under the age of 14, or those who are just immature, would simply ignore it and say those things anyway. Good idea, but it's work for an unchangeable outcome.

So basically just Facebookify matchmaking by having only a "Like," button? Weak, man. Weak.

Not a "Like" button. Its just a simple way to be nice to the other players in the room, the fewer gg's you see at the end of a game would indicate that most people disliked it anyway, no need to have a "bad game" option.

I'm assuming that the next bungie game will be on console here, but why can't you just say it in the lobby? Basically this isn't about making it easier to say good game, it's easy enough to say it through the mic, it's about educating people that's it's good manners just to say it or at the very least be civil to each other.

It's essentially the same thing is what I was saying. Only giving an option for positive feedback while leaving the only possibility for negative feedback just available through comment (IE: your mic).

I always thought such a feature existed in the form of the post-gameover pre-blackscreen murderfest where you try to take out as many enemies and allies as possible along with yourself with whatever leftover ordinance you happened to be carrying with you. Always relieved tensions for me, perhaps not between me and my opponent, but certainetly between my team mates.

And they had better damn well include some form of this classic Halo Tradition in their next series so the hilarity can live on.

“Strange,” mused the Director, as they turned away, “strange to think that even in Our Ford’s day most games were played without more apparatus than a ball or two and a few sticks and perhaps a bit of netting. imagine the folly of allowing people to play elaborate games which do nothing whatever to increase consumption.”

Yes, you are missing something - Equilibrium wasn't about making people happy, it was precisely the opposite. The premise was that you remove all emotions, be they positive or negative.

Pfft, I haven't seen that movie since it first came out on video. So I'll admit I may have forgotten... most of the details. Anyway, I still think it's a silly idea. I never subscribed to the "if you don't have anything nice don't say anything at all" philosophy. Sometime things need to be said.

Away from that, trash talking is all part of the culture and before gaming trash talking was and is part of sport culture.
