"I will show you how a true Prussian officer fights!"

"And i will show you where the iron crosses grow..."

- "Cross of Iron"

The siege of madrigal is from one of Bungies old games called myth.

Siege of Madrigal is from the Myth games, and it's appearance in Bungie's Halo games has actually been an easter egg throwback to that.

Madrigal was made into an actual planet in the universe, though, and you can read a bit about it in the book Halo: The Cole Protocol. Long story short, it gets sieged.

The person who said participating is important, not winning, obviously never won anything.

It's from one of Bungie's older games, Myth.

It also shows up in Haloverse as a colony that got sieged and annihilated by the Covenant.

Tru7h. The Siege of Madrigal is level 3 of Myth: The Fallen Lords. At the beginning of Myth: TFL, Madrigal is the last remaining free city. The armies of Light (i.e. humanity, dwarves, and a few other races) were pushed back to Madrigal by the armies of the Dark (evil sorcerers, stone giants, ravenous beasts, and legions of the undead). As the game opens, one of the Dark armies is besieging Madrigal, hence "The Siege of Madrigal".
