i don't think he's going to die because he's been MIA for while and it feels a bit like he's dead.

But in case he would die of something else i made a script of the beginning and the end:

Beginning
the UNSC Forward Unto Dawn enters the Legendary Planet.
Crashing into the inner surface of darkness and fear he flees to the back of the remaining part of the ship, as fast as he can he activates his Jetpack, flying upwards and the ship downwards.
A big explosion lights the inner surface with an almost blinding light as he captures a glimpse of the dark horror.
Knowing that he is probably MIA he does his best he can to hide and survive from the horror he witnessed.
He has to warn them, he has to warn humanity of a new threat.

...

Mid.
After he finally scavenged some communication parts from the remaining parts of what's left from the Forward Unto Dawn he constructs a portable satellite.
Trying to communicate with any lifeform he loses his concentration and suddenly the surface turns bright again.
The feral cave were he is hiding lights up as well as the gloat
on the savage creature who is sneaking on John.
Grinding and drooling 'it' comes closer.
John quickly grabs his combat knife, until he witnesses what horror was sneaking on him, a creature so foul and demonic like it's been kicked out of the Jaws of Hell itself.
He starts running because he can't draw any attention anymore.
But he is a Spartan, and spartan's don't flee from a fight.
He leads the creature into a narrow pass, suddenly John is gone.
The creature starts sniffing and growling, his blood red eyes can see in the dark.
John turns on his night vision.
'No time to waste' He thinks 'Gotta save Cortana'
and Away he is, on the rescue to prove that he CAN keep a promise to a girl more than once.

the end
With Cortana back in his helmet he activates the nuclear engine
and and the timer counts: looking for an escape shuttle he almost forgot to save the savage man who saved him earlier.
Together they enter a Shuttle.
They fly away unto the stars and beyond and everything seems good until a big blast destroys the shuttle his main engine.
'Warning Overheat' is shouting though the air that is slightly slipping away through a small hole.
'Alert, Oxygen low'
'Ignore it i'll get you out of here' he says satisfying towards his friend, but the savage doesn't understand a word from johns
burble.
The hostile ship that destroyed the engine tries to climb aboard.
'Hide' John shouts.
The heavy boots of the enemy soldiers echo through the whole shuttle.
As they both see a chance to escape they run onto the enemy ship but one focused soldier spots them and shoots, the others are alerted to now and the leader activates the bridge between the 2 ships. John bashes the closing door between the shuttle and the bridge and enters space again.
He hold on tight on the closing bridge as he notices that his friends isn't with him.
The ships door locks and John realizes that it's to late.
He enters the cockpit and captures a glimpse of his friend lying on the floor of the shuttle.
Tears roll over his sweaty cheeks.
Suddenly an abrupt sound echos through the ship and disturbs his moment of his first ever emotional pain.
'Nuclear self destruct in 3...,2...,1...'
The legendary planet behind him explodes with an Bang.
John floats unconscious into space, and a long silence is interrupted by a weak radio signal.
'John?...John?'
'This is UNSC Spirit of Fire'
'There is help inbound,...hang on brother'

Well, did you liked it?
It can be a little boring and i only have my knowledge from halo from Halo Pedian but don't judge me please :D

the voice at the end is from one of the spartans from the SOF,
maybe Jerome or someone else :D

Now write your own version, i'm very interested in your creativity about John

Vengeance only leads to an ongoing cycle of hatred.

Probably.

It's the prestige that makes the illusion.

they die but get reported as MIA to build up the legend that they never die

PS: 'Spartans never die' is my favorite quote from halo :D

Don't -blam!- with Kerser!

I think he should die at the end of Halo 6. He should end up sacrificing himself for the entire galaxy. But just before he does it, emotional Halo music plays (Preferably something like this (Listen to all of it for the best experience)) and he says some heroic words...

The best ending possible, and I am sure most would agree.

Do you know what kind of hat I'm wearing?

A party hat; you don't get one. An honor will this party be, a party in your honor, for your honor. Some of Tfear's personal guards are going to be there. You'll be introduced shortly.

Prepare to die.

He's going to die eventually, unless he finds a way to survive the end of the universe and become a transcendent god.

When? In Halo 4?

Probably not, as this new Trilogy is set around him once more.

But I can see him dying at the end of the new Trilogy. And it would be a fitting end to his life of violence. The only time he can truely have peace is when he's dead.

We are all going to get banned aren't we?

He needs to die to show people that he is just a human. plus if he were to "ascend" or some mythological idea like that then we know that halo will be milked forever.

For the sake of the series he needs to die.

By the power of truth, I, while living, have conquered the universe.

Now that Microsoft realized that MASTER CHIEF IS HALO, I doubt he dies, which I'm glad, 'cause I love the Chief.

But yeah, I guess people prefer having uninteresting, boring and cliche characters rather than a real hero.

If you're talking about the people who want him to die, know that him dying is the best possible ending based on what we know, for the Chief. It's got nothing to do with character preferance...

And badass 'real' heroes are as cliche as they come, really.

Show Faith/Defy Fate

Im sorry, but I would find it highly unorigional if Chief died at the end. Its a tired and old cliche of almost every heroic story out there. I pray that Halo continues to be as creative as always and doesnt kill MC. Besides, that sounds boring.

@accordingto343

Your one stop shop for all of 343's fabulous errors and ridiculous notions in the Halo lore.

What does Chief living set on the Halo table?

Nothing.

If he survives and manages to get back to Earth. Then what? After such a huge threat such as the Timeless One being defeated and the universe saved, then what? Seriously, he needs to die. But oh no, we can't upset you fanboys can we?

  • 11.01.2011 3:38 PM PDT

@Eliteblade46 Amen to that brother

  • 11.01.2011 5:43 PM PDT
