.. If Ceramic Carbide was so tough, then why didnt the UNSC use it for battle armor for standard troops?

For those of you that do not know what Ceramic Carbide is, it is a highly durable alloy that was used as the bone structure of the Spartan-II,s.

We should know better, because we are better.

Probably because it would be too expensive to mass produce, or too impractical.

It probably came down to cost. As there were only a 30 something spartans to use the carbide on the cost was lower. mass production of carbide armor may have not panned out because of cost and the fact that there are alot of UNSC soldiers.

Im basing it on cost but I really dont know the cost of Ceramic carbide.

No, but in the original print of Halo:The fall of Reach, an injury sustained by two of the Spartans, showed that the bone was solidly intact, even after sustaining plasma fire (which was the cause of the original injuries)
