Help anyone? I recently got a new computer, and upgraded to 64bit Windows. When I try to open Halo 2 the only thing that happens is that the screen resolution changes to 1024x768 and crashes to desktop. I've tried reinstalling Halo 2, changing comp[atability settings, updating windows LIVE before I install, but it just refuses to work.

Can someone help me out? My specs are

Core i7 920 @ 2.67ghz
nVidia Geforce 9800GT
6GB of RAM

and if it's any important, I have more than one HDD but when I do the installation process I just leave it to the default program files folder in C.

That's the number of bans in this thread. Next time you want to derail something, go stand in front of a train.

Hmm, I take it all the drivers are up to date and all that? Right 64 bit drivers too?

Maybe quickly do a clean install as a dual boot and see how it runs on that?

Yep everything is up to date.

I got a 32 bit copy of windows 7 laying around, I'll dual boot it and see what happens, cause I got a lot of other software too that won't run.

Just gone and installed Windows 7 Ultimate 64 Bit through Boot Camp, with Halo 2 Vista shortly after (thought it was about time I did it anyway)

Is running just fine, have you made sure all the updates are fine? I had a problem however once Visual C++ 2010 was installed and GFWL was up to date, it ran fine.

I'm just wondering if it's as you said you did, just upgraded it. Perhaps a clean install would fix all your problems.

I will warn you in advance of this, you only have 5 installs per cd key for Halo 2. Once they're used up, you have to buy another. Blame the stosh.

Actually, I think that's the one thing you CAN'T blame stosh on...
