**** Halo Glory Days ****

Hi Folks,

I was wondering if the new Halo CE will work over LAN, just like the original?

My buddies and I want to re-live the glory days of an 8 screen one room Halo fest.

Will Halo CE work over LAN, do we need to bring Reach too?

Wrong forum.

To address your concern: I'm guessing that you're talking about the multiplayer?

Halo CEA will be using Halo Reach multiplayer, albeit you don't need Halo Reach to play it. It comes with 6 multiplayer maps and 1 firefight map - all which will work over LAN.

If you want to play on more maps though, then you'll need your copy of Reach.

Many thanks,

Apologies for the forum slip-up; should I put it in game forums?

No problem.

The thread is already here now I guess, but if you want to, post it on Halo Waypoint's forums.

Do you have any other questions? I'll try and answer them if you want.

So am I right in thinking we can set up an 8 way LAN and all play on the 6 multiplayer maps - just like we did all those years ago...

So we can have flag and slayer games on a digitally enhanced Blood Gultch.

I saw somewhere that there are jetpacks too, or is this only when using the Reach engine part? Will that mean having to load Reach onto the HD and play CE from the disc?

Many thanks for your help.

If you can set up 8 way LAN in Halo Reach, you can do it in Halo CEA.

Yeap.

Okay, so. In Halo CEA, 343i decided against remaking the classic multiplayer from Halo CE. Instead, they released a TU in Halo Reach which gives them the ability to remove bloom and make it as close as possible to the original.

Basically, the multiplayer in Halo CEA is exactly the same as Halo Reach's. If you want a classic experience, there are new gametypes without bloom and AAs which will hopefully fill that need.

No. The multiplayer portion of Halo CEA can be played from the CEA disc, and doesn't require Halo Reach to play.
I think that makes sense. :)
