I have heard quite a bit of complaining about Halo Glasslands for the past few days, but it's always the people who don't like something that speak out most, and I want to see what most people really think. I'm nearly finished with it myself, and apart from some minor (but all justifiable) canon discrepancies I thoroughly enjoyed it. I fell that it put an emphasis on personality and individual motivations that the other Halo books lacked, and once I got into it I couldn't put it down.

Ad Infinitum

I finished reading it yesterday. I won't spoil it, but I thought it was very well done. It's true that there isn't a ton of action, but it delves deeper into the mystery that is ONI. Plus, it was nice to see the people trapped in the Dyson sphere again. There was some pretty teary moments in the story too, and a little cliffhanger ending that leaves an opening for the next book.

Overall, I would give it a read. I thought people were too critical with the whole Halsey personality deal. I thought it was a realistic portrayal of what to expect when you've done so many questionable things for so long, and you suddenly find yourself surrounded with your "mistakes" with no real way to get out. I mean, there is only so much you can store inside before you come loose.

Overall 8/10
