Subject: TV size making a difference?

"You are who you dare"

You owe it to yourself to get out and be someone. Get to work!

-Leader of The Citadel

Maybe I'm just crazy, but recently, after using a smaller TV, It seems that I've been playing much better.

Perhaps it's the decreased population in Reach matchmaking through.

Anyone have a similar experience?

Have you ever seen the blast radius of an actual plasma grenade?

It's easier to play on a smaller tv....it's a known fact.

I really cannot play on big TV's because it strains my peripheral vision. On a small TV I capture everything that happens in the game, especially in the corners.

I recommend smaller TVs. My TV is 18.5 inches.

Ranked in TOP 20 players in the World in Halo 3 Campaign: Enemies KIA. Halocharts.com

I must be the only one that plays better on a big TV's LoL.

Also my TV dose not picture lag.

The TV size makes a difference with the smaller being the more preferred and also appears to function better.

Another aspect to look at is type of TV or Monitor mixed with what type of input is used.

Good practice:
Monitors use HDMI or DVI
HDTV use VGA also find the (GAME MODE)
Bubble TVs use standard inputs, R,W,Y

Most preferred setup:
20"-22" Monitor with HDMI or VGA inputs

ooga booga boooh

It's not the size of the TV so much as the response time you get from the TV itself.

No thanks.

I've tried playing on the 55", but my reaction time was worse than it normally is.

I play on a 37" but prefer the 27" tube.

Not true. A bigger TV needs more Hz to keep up. Anything bigger than 36" needs to be 120Hz and any TV bigger than 46" needs to be 240Hz (for gaming).

But, if you have a 52" with only 60Hz yeah your picture is going to lag.

Just FYI

I tried to smoke some hash, but the corned beef wouldn't light!

I have recently a 40 inch television, the old one was a 26 inch and I still need to get used to it.

Best Intro: Baka to Test and Angel Beats!
Best anime to my eyes: Angel Beats!
First anime to make me cry: Clannad
Most time with me laughing: Baka to Test
Most Gory: Elfin Lied.
Favorite Character: Kanade Tachibana <3
All these are bound to change over time obviously.

I play so much better on a Standard Definition 19" than my 42" HD Tv.

  • 11.02.2011 7:38 AM PDT

Very possible for a number of reasons. I used to play on a 22" flat which is when I was best, I've upgraded to a 32" because it was cheap and my old tv was dying. Many larger tv's have a significant input delay (the difference in time between you moving your thumbstick and the tv showing your action). I didn't notice it for a while, I was playing blops at this time (its terrible, I know) and my weekly k/d went down from about 2.0 to 1.3 or so and I couldn't figure out why until it suddenly hit me. I've messed about with the setting and changed it to a gaming mode which reduces it alot to a playable state so I do better now, but not like on my old 22".

It could also be that its easier to mentally process all of the information on a smaller tv

<(-_-)> Teh mokey is not amused

If a Tv's too big you can't take it all in at once. However poor TVs make it harder to spot active camo.
