If the unsc had high charity and the super cruisers and advanced sheilds vs the covenant with the undc technology would the war still turn out the same?

"I will show you how a true Prussian officer fights!"

"And i will show you where the iron crosses grow..."

- "Cross of Iron"

UNSC military tactics versus covenant military tactics would mean UNSC victory if they had access to that technology. They would know how to effectively use all of it more so than the covenant ever could.

It depends, does the unsc still have Master Chief?

Love playing custom games?

Well come join Customs Evolved

We are group dedicated to playing custom games, map testing, game nights, etc. Anyone is welcomed to join, and we hope to have as much fun as possible!

Well, the UNSC wouldn't glass their own planets to get rid of the covenant would they?

The Covenant would be outmatched in every single way.

The Covenant would be outmatched in every single way.
Except ground engagements. They would have superior weaponry in the ground.

I would have to say the Battle Rifle, Rocket Launcher, Sniper, DMR, GAUSS etc are better than covenant weapons but I highly doubt the covenant would use projectiles since they are so plasma based

Do they have the skill to use it though?

Ah, I forgot about that...

Yeah, their weaponry would be more effective. But then, are we swapping Humanity's ingenuity and pragmatism as well in this scenario? Obviously the Covenant would not really be as impractical in this scenario if they have such weapons. And it would be their own technology, so they would have a sense of technological intuitiveness on them too. I guess they cannot really be swapped like this whilst still keeping them true to their personalities.

No. UNSC could hold their one on the ground, and that was with using Sparatans, ODST's and tac nukes.

John musing on the deck of a ship about how the UNSC won almost every ground engagement but lost the strategic victory because the covenant had the superior navy and would just glass if they lost.

The person who said participating is important, not winning, obviously never won anything.

The Covenant would get annihilated.

The novels.

It was been stated numerous times that the UNSC usually wins on the ground but at horrendous costs. It's incredible they even win since they are always outnumbered and the Covenants tech is much better.

What books though? They usually win on the ground as opposed to space, not as opposed to the Covenant winning on the ground. The only indication I have been able to find regarding the UNSC's success against the Covenant on the ground comes from the Encyclopedia, and it only says that UNSC victories were scattered and few and usually on the ground as opposed to space. It sounds like they got destroyed in the majority of ground battles too.

somewhere in the fall of reach i believe within the Lines of "The UNSC normally wins on the ground but the covenant can just retreat to their starships and glass the planet".

3 years and only 1 ban, try harder next time noobs.

The covenant would not have been able to take Harvest.

They lost only on ground because they were swarmed by the enemies and their advanced weaponry, invisibilty was a big problem as well as shields.

Invisibility was never an issue since we have thermal, keyes even saw an "invisible" elite that was right in front of him.

Shields weren't that big of an issue since combined fire helps. The only problem was the ships.

The best example I can give you is the Battle of Jericho VII, where the UNSC started winning on the ground after three day stalemate in orbit. But since Covenant reinforcements arrived, the ground forces had to pull out, and lost the planet.

Because Muslims surgically implant organic bombs in their testicles, which in turn will be injected into women during sex, which will grow into BABY BOMBS!

Definitely UNSC. In First Strike Cortana stated how primitive the firing methods were for the Ascendant Justice's plasma weapons and she quickly made them far more powerful by directing the plasma in a more direct and efficient way. I assume the same could be done for Plasma Rifles and other Covenant weapons.

although i have got to ask, if the shield is like wearing a chain mail armour could you just kill the wearer by breaking bones.

What i mean is that there should be weapons if with hit with enough force not break the shield but break the bones of the one with the shields on them.

Also if you decide to break the bones of the wearor you would not need to go through the shields.

another thing i find interesting is the lack of use of EMP's could they have just made strong EMP bombs or nukes that could take down the shields.

You can't destroy the ship/break bones without getting through the shield first. Sufficient kinetic impact would get through shields first and then break bones.

EMPs are too risky as they may potentially get their own electronics disrupted by the EMP pulse if the impact is too close and launching a long range EMP would just get shot down.
