Subject: The hardest enemy in this game.

This guy.
Surviving the encounter with the square is like beating Halo 2 on SLASO with a guitar hero controller. It's impossible.

I've heard of corner sliding, slowing down fall with an explosion, etc. but this does look impossible.

This is actually the stupidest thing ever posted on B.net:

Why does everyone hate Halo 2? Maybe its because its the worst game ever next to mario.

LMAO! This would kick the -blam!- out of the Cairo Station pickle...

...Or would it?

Indeed. However, I spy with my little eye a small column to the left. I just might be able to slide my ghost down and jump on it. But surviving the next jump is beyond me.

1v1 pickle against the square. Worlds will collide.

I just rewatched it. It looks like that pillar that you fell by is your only hope of survival. Landing on it would be quite a feat.

Only the Dreadnought can save us now. To the Ark and beyond!

The pickle is in it's own world.

The square:
If you set a bunch of Ghosts around that square leaning in a bit, then go around and down in the passage leading to the area where the last Pelican appears, when you get under the square you will be able to see the Ghosts.

I've never seen anyone get down without fall-time so go for it. I suggest having the RL ready, with BE on. Try to get on the pillar, then slide off the edge facing inward with the RL pointed downward. Just before you die, shoot the RL and it will stop your fall and it will be reset. You will land gracefully....or not.

For those of us un-initiated, what is fall time? I think I might have to start exploring these aspects of the game!

Ha ha, that is only the beginning of this game outside of the regular gameplay.

Fall-time is when you become immune to death by falling in a vehicle. You can semi do the same with the falling death (not in a vehicle).

Simple SP version; get an enemy close to your vehicle and then swordswipe at the enemy and get in the vehicle. If done correctly you will be fall-timed, just like in the vid where I launched to the Delta Halo middle tower. There would be no way to survive such a long drop without this phenomenon.

You've seen my swordflying vids but every time I get my swordflying capability, I am also fall-timed. It opens up a whole new world of fun.

I have instruction vids if you are interested.

You can also break the falling death by using an RL or grenade to momentarily stop your fall and the fall-death is reset. That way you can fall great distances without dying.

One other thing for people not familiar with H2 tricking, there are no mods for any of my vids, I only use what the game gives me.

Here's only one example of the fall-time in action:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RxzUgtfP2X8

I forgot to add that you cannot sworfly with v1.1, only v1.0

Are you playing on PC or on a normal xbox? The v 1.1 vs 1.0 thing has me wondering? I am on a normal old xbox, am I limited to what I can do relative to what I see you doing?

I play on an original xbox for H2 only. When you start up the game, in the title menu area it will say what version if updated, 1.1 etc. If it says 1.0 or nothing at all then you have just received a ticket to ride the great roller coaster.

If you have never been online with your original box, all tricks will work.

OP: I was watching your turret twitch video on your youtube page, and it reminded me of something I have seen on CS, with GBP and Sputnik active:

During the first hanger battle you are able to fire directly into the spawning covies as the disembark from the landing craft. If you nail the grunts, both, the second one ends up stuck in the force field closing the entry to the LC, but he is flailing his arms and kicking his legs in a death throe for the whole time. It looks like he is swimming, absolutely hilarious.

One of these days I guess I am gonna have to get a 360 so I can capture some of this stuff, or however you all do your vids. I have tried to explain some pretty damn funny stuff, not all of it has been explained well! Plus, y'all keep asking for proof!

You don't need no stank 360. Just get a capture card, mine cost only $50 and it's a USB plug-in. For you, I never need proof, I'd just like to see what you see.

Christmas is right around the corner my friend, you will love a cc.

That goes for anyone here. I recommend that everyone that is serous about glitching or has good material to show should get a capture card. However I will warn you that Pinnacle Studio 15 sucks severely.

Welcome to the tribe, Holme. I cruised around in that place way back. Was hoping to get some kind of Prophet Easter egg. Nothing. So much space. Eh. Is still better than the "Return to battlefield in seven or less seconds or your taint will implode" of other games.

If your talking about Reach you just have to look harder for the untainted places. But when you do find them, it is immensely fun. But even so Halo 2 beats Reach by a long shoot.

Quite simply because it's more exploratory than Reach, Halo 2 beats it. :)

And dropped weapons don't disappear very frequently. The geometry is also consistent. And the AI are fun to manipulate. Two Betrayals is a nightmare when dealing with Sentinels or Covies. But in Halo 2, it's much more fun to play with the AI. Weapon swap and the infinite ammo glitch that comes with it was also a great feature.

If there is one thing Halo 2 needs, it has to be Halo 3's physics: retaining the classic physics properties while having the damage collision be improved. I get splattered too often by flipped vehicles. But other than that, it has first place in everything!!

Yep, still up in this piece, my man. Glad to see you're still here. Hope all's good. Eh. Gaming today. The old exploration thing has been replaced by customization. It's the future...Halo touches on it, Dead Space nails it...everyone else has their own little version. As a campaign guy, am cautiously hopeful. All I do these days before work is Horde. (Compression of what makes games fun) Have got to think that this is the way. We might lose our campaign-ness, but, the cooperative, customized thing is looking better and better. Maybe campaign will disappear completely. I can live with that, as long as they keep us oldsters in the fold with non-competitive relevance...

Haha, thanks for the esoteric thoughts. If only others knew, but then it would not be esoteric would it? Glad to hear from you my friend.

Here, this is for you, it sums up what I still do:

I'm afraid the train has left the station and I forgot to buy a ticket so I'm left with the same old bag of tricks. Maybe I'll catch up later.

Hanger one I just shredded with the SMGs until ammo was out and I just threw 'nades like a boss while BRing.

My experience playing Cairo Station on Legendary

Oh wow! I've never seen this before. Pretty weird... and Grumpy, WHAT THE HELL?
