Subject: The "Community" Forum

Hello, I'm Mr AwesomePizza. I like pizza and I'm a man. Reasoning for the name. I like to listen to the classics of music, write poetry, play video games, and much much more. I'm always down for a nice chat, so please hit me up for some conversation.

The Bungie Community forum is where you post your ideas on how to improve the site, or to discuss the site. Or just Bungie. Point is, the Community forum is mainly used to make the Community better. But why is it called the "Community" forum? Aren't all the forums apart of the Community? So shouldn't all the forums be called the "Community" forums? Community is defined as this.

What I'm trying to say is, should this forum be called something else? Since every forum is technically the Bungie community. And filled with people who would be classified as "The Community", and not all them use this specific forum. Basically I think the name should be changed to something more suiting. What should it be called? I don't know, maybe return it back to it's original name "The Chapter Founders Forum" or, "The Septagon?" Or something else. Like I said, I don't know.

What do you guys say? Do you agree or disagree? I'm not so sure myself. If you could rename this forum, what would it be? You guys just have to answer two questions.

DISCUSS!

I don't think so, all of this forum does is discuss the community. It's still not technically the whole community like the name implies.

SPOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOON!

I've always strongly preferred "The Septagon" to "Bungie Community Forum". It just feels like The Septagon is a more "Bungieish" phrase than the sorta sterile Community forum.

I'd rather we go back to The Septagon and Underground and "chapters". Though, that's just me, and the names are not here for my personal benefit. They help newer users figure out what this or that is or how it functions. That is understandably important. I still prefer the more "in the know" method though. It encourages lurking and questions.

Also, the original name for this board was "The Chapter Founders Forum".

Did not know it was called that, everyone has always said it was The Septagon. Thanks for the info.

That's the point of the forum. It is The Community Forum where you discuss things about the community. The other forums were made so you can discuss about other various topics. If they were named "Community Forum" then they all would have to discuss the same thing. Get what I'm saying?

I do, but I still find that the name is not really suiting. I still find it that it is a strange name for the forum. I understand your point completely, but "The" could imply that it is the community. Just my thought though. I hope you understand what I'm saying, I word things bad sometimes.

Why do people in ship mutinies always ask for "better treatment"? I'd ask for a pinball machine, because with all that rocking back and forth, you'd get a lot of free games.

Maybe in order to understand mankind, we have to look at the word itself: "Mankind". Basically, it's made up of two separate words - "mank" and "ind". What do these words mean? It's a mystery, and that's why so is mankind.

Over thinking is bad.

Also, The Septagon.

I think 'Community Forum' fits just fine. I personally think that Bungie are using the phrase in another context.

This forum should be a forum for general discussion, Bungie or not related. The Flood should be for forum games and 'post a picture of yourself' ect.

If this forum were to ever be called the screw - short of a silly meme - I would happily hunt down every single one of you.

Hi I'm RT and I like to argue!

What would be the point? It's just a name, it wouldn't affect anything.

If you're joking, I'd like to stab you. If you're not I'd like to stab everyone else.

OT: I think this name is pretty easy to understand, and I can't think of a better one. I preferred the personality of "The Septagon", but it was changed to help new users get around easier, and I can't argue with that. More importantly I don't see it coming back unless the next navigation system allows a forum description under the title. So the only option would be to make it MORE descriptive, which would probably lead to it having a title that's too narrow.

tl;dr - I don't see a problem worth fixing.
