hey all, this is just a question thread regarding Callsigns/Call Tags (however you want to refer to them).

You might have seen the thread with the guy complaining people were using his KILL tag, yes he was probably trolling but anyways.

What i want to know is why dont people use a part of their XBL Gamertag in their Call signs??

There is nothin more annoying than trying to point out something in game to your team if their tags are not realted in anyway to them!!

Do you guys use part of your gamertag as your call sign?

For reference my XBL is zKoopa
and my callsign is Koop

I was a finalist :P

Because I have the same name Tag (X55) as I did for Halo 2 (back when there was one letter and two numbers). It was kind of a tradition (of sorts), I wanted to carry on.

Slightly OT trivia: Did you know the example that was provided by Bungie, when creating your nameplate, was N00B?

I guess what you implying, only really helps in a full party in BTB or slayer.

I normally go into matchmaking by myself and party with unknowns who barely use mics (even with the search restriction on). Even the ones which do have mics don't use call sign allocation during enemy confrontations. They usually state "two in the lift room", or "I got sniped from [location]", which is helpful enough in any case. Either that or proceed to be annoying (the latter is usually the more common).
