I feel that weapon spread better displays an individual's skill with weapons, for it gives a better estimate of how often a player kills and is killed by a particular weapon. Ratio > Spread
So, let's say a person has a 20.00 competitive K/D with the sniper rifle. This person must be one amazing sniper, right? You take a good look at his spread, and it turns out he only has 20 kills and 0 deaths with it. Now you see why K/D is often misleading?
It's a combination of both really. I mean, my Spiker K/D is at 28.00. That's because I've never been killed by a Spiker in MM. At the same time, I could have a +20000 spread with a DMR, but it wouldn't be that impressive if I had like 200000 kills and 180000 deaths.
Very good point. By itself I think spread gives a better description of skill; however, the combination of both ratio and spread give the clearest picture. Thank your for pointing that out. :)
