Bungie claims its Heroic, but it resembles nothing anywhere near to the books.

Great topic! My vote is Heroic. Anything easier and Humanity handles the Covenant too easily. Legendary the enemies are a little too overpowered, especially against like the assault rifle.

the damage MC can take is between heroic and legendary. The damage the covenant can take is about easy.

Books and Halo 3 "Arriaval" indicates 5MJ shields. Due to game balance issues, the shields in games are significantly weaker. But game shields are not canon. i mean the balistics don't even match. 1 sniper round from the Halo rifle = about 10 assault rifle rounds, but that is not how it is in the game.

So if anything(For bullets at least) easy is the most comparable, but is still off by over 1,000 assault rifle rounds. Plasma is different as Covie plasma seems to have a knack for easting up all the yummy EM waves or whatever and utalizes heat energy rather than kinetic balistic weaponry.

For shield strength of Spartans it's Legendary.
Covenant health and shields is Normal.

However playing on Easy makes up for all the enormous amounts of limitations imposed by the games.

For the damage Master Chief can take before dying, it's harder than legendary. For how much it takes to kill the Covenant, it's Easy. War is fast paced my friend.

IRL you would be able to withstand 166 sniper rounds to drop the shielding, and nothing less than reapeated point-blank fire from 7.62mm AP rounds would get through the armor part.

Now that wouldn't make for a very balanced game, now would it?

Herioc for MC shields, normal for Covies. Half the problem with legendary is they are to freakin good to be realistic (which is alot of fun to beat) but they would act like Heroic. Weapons wise, the power on easy would be good.

I'd say Heroic for the human strength, and Normal for the Covenant strength, maybe even easy.

Normal is the most balanced, but I find that Heroic gives the enemies some actual intelligence, because the normal ones are a bit airheaded, and lose you when you go to cover. Legendary makes them a bit telepathic, and you end up getting found and killed no matter what, even if you're up on the roof with active camo. In damage and resistance, Normal levels it, but the enemies are not perceptive enough to use those balanced weapons. [Side note: If you play firefight on normal and tweaked the resistance and perception of enemies, you can get a perfect balance of firepower, resistance, and intelligence] Heroic is the best in AI, but the damage scales are a bit too unfair.
