Subject: If Bungie ever decided to make Star Wars Battlefront 3.

lolnope.

What would your reaction be? I for one, have been a massive Star Wars Battlefront fan for years now. I still play SWBF2 on occasion offline just for old times sake. And judging by The Floods constant mentioning of Star Wars Battlefront nearly everyday, I'm also guessing that there are several fans of the series here in the Community forum. How would you feel about Bungie creating the 3rd installment in the Star Wars Battlefront series if they were ever given the opportunity and were taking advantage of it? I would buy the game in a heart beat. Imagine all of the customization, the large full scale battles, a map editor, all made by our favorite game developer. OMGWTFBBQJIZZ

I would be dissapointed quite honestly. Don't get me wrong, Starwars Battlefront is a decent series (though the second game was a huge step backwards from the first game in many regards), but it would be a mistake for Bungie to work on such a game, and thank god that they have no interest in working on other people's intellectual properties.

You see, Bungie has a lot of great storytellers, they're rather creative people. They love designing deep and fleshed out worlds, with beautiful vistas, memorable characters, and epic storylines. You sorta kill that entire side of Bungie once you restrict them to a well-established universe that they do not have control over.

Wanting them to make a third person control point capturing shooter is one thing, but you're squandering your fantasies if you dream about them making the next Star Wars Battlefront. Not to mention, restricting them to the Star Wars universe really inhibits a lot of potential directions they could take such a game in. It would frankly be somewhat unexciting to work on.

“Oh, it’s a little bit of everything, it’s the mountains, it’s the fog, it’s the news at six o’clock, it’s the death of my first dog, it’s the angels up above me, it’s the song that they don’t sing, It’s a little bit of everything.”
- Dawes, A little bit of everything

I would jump up and down, squeal a few times, and then call my friend (with whom I used to play hours and hours of the original Battlefront game and then hours upon hours of Battlefront 2).

So long as they didn't let you play as Jedi, and actually had NPC Jedi on the field. That ruined 2 for me.

The SWBF games are about the soldiers, and running down jedi on a land speeder...the ability to play as them lost sight of that.

But otherwise I'd go as crazy as Dr Zoidberg.

Really? I know we don't have any news or anything... but have really we been reduced to fantasizing about Bungie making other people's games?

  • 11.04.2011 3:40 AM PDT

-blam!- Was that actually blammed out? Or did I just type it? You'll never know.

I would be a bit disappointed. I'd rather keep the series safe with the developers that made it fantastic.

I would give them each a hug, individualy.

But it won't happen.
Anyway, I'm sure that their next game will be ten times better.

Agreed.
They would give clones and storm troopers armor abilities and screw the whole deal.

Because it's not like they don't already have Sprint, Evade, Jetpacks, Armor Lock, and Active Camo in the game am I right?

-_-

If you're going to try to bash Bungie, could you at least think before you type and do it in somewhat of a constructive manner?

Why do people in ship mutinies always ask for "better treatment"? I'd ask for a pinball machine, because with all that rocking back and forth, you'd get a lot of free games.

Maybe in order to understand mankind, we have to look at the word itself: "Mankind". Basically, it's made up of two separate words - "mank" and "ind". What do these words mean? It's a mystery, and that's why so is mankind.

If they did the same type of game, yes.

In Battlefront those load outs were static with the weapons they came with. Then again I never played it in a multiplayer setting, so it never honestly occurred to me that they were even present, seeing how when playing solo or co-op it was never an issue.

And for the record, clones and stormtroopers didn't have armor lock nor active camo.
