Subject: Tartarus Vs Noble 6

FYI guys, I see talk about Tartarus' sheilding from Contact Harvest...lets ignore that it was over 25 years ago and there were probably advances in tech but talk about how his hammer is described to be nothing more then a large rock that doesn't defy gravity...It's suggested (I looked on wiki to fill in gap) that his hammer was upgraded in the 25 year gap and since he wears no shield projector on him it's suggested his hammer also produces the shield around him at the end of Halo 2.

Now I don't to go around saying pressumptions on the wiki are actuall facts but it seems to make alot more sense since Tartarus wear like NO armour so I doubt he is wearing his uncles old set.

So just to clear things up, sheild strength in Contact Harvest =/= Shield strength in Halo 2.

Why would he have needed to upgrade his armour? Maccaebus' armour was already insanely strong, as I have mentoned above, 32 marines using 30 assault rifles and 2 prototype battle rifles fired sustained shots at maccaebus' shields without them failing. and this is from the book, not presumed wikia facts.

This shield strength appears to be similiar to what we see in H2, supporting my point that his shielding strength remained the same, even if he felt the need to upgrade his hammer.

I somehow doubt a hammer could provide both an insanely strong shield effect and a gravity modifier, even if it is the fist of rukt, but I suppose you could be right...

Well he isn't really wearing any amrour in Halo 2. In the book I swear his uncle has a helmet with his armour...Tartarus isn't wearing any helmet. The wiki states he isn't wearing anything large enough to project an energy shield except his hammer. It's also shown his hammer is upgraded because in Contact HArvest it's just a rock whereas now it's got tech attached to it. Apparently the Fist of Rukt was around the same weight as Sgt Byrne. I'm just saying it's logical to assume that since Tartarus only wears ONE shoulder piece that his hammer is where his shield comes from.

In regards to novels and "canon". I will pick and choose which ones to support as I damn well please. Cryptum and Glasslands are irrelevant as far as I'm concerned.

Don't like that? Boo hoo.

Sure they're "canon" but that doesn't mean I have to support them, their existence, or the continued careers of their respective writers.

Plus you sound UBER Bias. Using insultive language towards them and making them seem really weak all the time. I don't like them much either but I don't think they should be taken lightly just because they are missing a few brain cells.

It's not insulting if it's true, they are primitive savages.

I'm not a big warhammer fan, that is true. But still, this is halo, not 40k.

Irrelevant to me. An alien xenos regardless of series is still an alien xenos.

No hypocritical corpse worshipping idiots who are loosing all grasp on tech here.

...you watch your ass heretic. :P

Methinks you are taking gameplay a little way to far. By that token then, a marine could take a fuel rod blast and still be intact? Cause in the games they don't blow to pieces, but in the book they describe a marine being hit by a fuel rod = giant hole in chest.

Well they obviously won't show that kind of wound, but a fuel rod to the chest will still kill said Marine, just like how Tartarus can be killed with a couple of shotgun rounds without the shield and said shield brought down with a couple of Beam Rifle shots.

I take the game mechanics in terms of damage resistance, damage output, weapon use, etc. Not character behavior or attitude, just the hard stats.

Cmdr DaeFaron is right I think. I've shot marine with a fuel rod canon before...he was was still walking talking and fine. I assume that if not for game play mechanics the plasma would burn through the marines armour and bubble his skin and kill him. Plus the damage you deal/take is affected by difficulty right? So again it's not very reliable.

~ it's kill or be killed ~
play nice y have fun

Depending on if Noble 6 can do armor lock..then probably (jokingly about the armor lock)

It was more about waiting him out and shooting him without his shields in Halo 2..

These threads are completely idiotic and do not belong here.

Tarturas would have no issue taking out 5 SIIIs and 1 SII if he could take out atleast 15 or so elites.

and if your going to call gameplay, all he would have to do is manipulate his hammer to kill all of them. He is the Deva Path of halo.
This is true. The Arbiter had the backup of a bunch of high ranking elites. There's no way N6 could defeat him alone.
