Except John was already labled as a better leader than the other S-IIs, yet Jorge is a higher rank.

Master Chief has more training, more combat experience, the best leadership skills of the S-II program(Along with Kurt and Fred), and a more impressive track record than any member of NOBLE Team. Any logically thinking person would put him at a higher rank than any one else on NOBLE Team.

Honestly now, could you really see Kat ordering the Chief around?

I am a Halo Pro. I am in a group called the Ninja Academy. It is a very good group and if you are reading this, you should join.

I Think he should have got promoted. I don't see why he didn't. I mean he did save the universe and everything. This guy talking about Army and Navy ranks has no clue what he's talking about. Even though MC is in the army that dosn't Make his rank any higher or lower.

United Armed Forces

He doesn't need a promotion. He's fine where he is. Noble is high-ranked for a reason, and that's because they're a "kill-team". Chief does the killing, not the strategizing. Notice how he takes command, no matter his rank? I see some people never read First Strike.

Admirals take his advice. He didn't need any -blam!- rank higher than what he had.

talking about noble six... he's a former pilot. and lieutenant it's maybe the lowest rank you get when you are a pilot. anyways, spartans are considered like weapons, not soldiers by the army, navy or whatever, so the only reason to get them promoted is maybe just to make them coordinate among themselves.

No, that has nothing to do with it. Spartans belong to the Navy and only to the Navy unless they are ONI operatives and even then I am sure they would still be Navy.

The reason Noble Team had higher ranks was because they were not to be bossed around, by regular soldiers since they were a Special Operations team, what use does a team of highly trained super humans has if they are sent by a Sergeant to patrol some random place instead of getting behind enemy lines and getting an important leader of a rebel faction (for example)?

You fail to understand, Master Chief Petty Officer is one of the most damn respected soldier ranks in the Navy.

A vet friend of mine said that fresh LT's would follow a Master Chief petty officer's orders, not the other way around (simply cause the master chief has more experiance, regardless of officer being higher)

You also fail to understand the fact that there are LOTS of less experienced people becoming officers and being higher ranked then heavily experienced footsoldiers. I can go to West Point, graduate as an LT, and technically order around a Sergeant who has been in the US Army (for example) for 4 years.

Because Muslims surgically implant organic bombs in their testicles, which in turn will be injected into women during sex, which will grow into BABY BOMBS!

Found this extract in Glasslands, I found it relevant to this thread regarding the Master Chief's rank.

"Officer or no officer, Fred was like anyone else in the UNSC. A senior NCO like Mendez could put him politely in his place and get away with it. Even admirals trod carefully around old senior chiefs."

I can see what you mean. But still, don't you find it absurdly weird that Jorge is a higher rank than Chief?
Also, is it just he just Master Chief Petty Officer, or is he Master Chief Petty Officer of The Navy?

I think they've said at the end of halo 3 he got given Master Chief Petty Officer of the Navy.

That's what I thought. So he did kind of get a promotion.
