Zero bloom is consistent.

Bloom is not consistent.

Consistency provides better competitive gameplay.

The better player will win in a ZB 1v1. If you miss/choke/etc you'll die.

I can spam my DMR and still kill those who pace.

Good players are good players. Bloom, or lack thereof, does not make a difference.

It just happens that zero bloom, with a bit of tweaking, makes for a more competitive and, in my opinion, a better experience than default Reach.

Maybe its just me but i find pacing my shots is more effective and when i do play zero bloom slayers i find that everyone has an equal chance to win so your "skill" goes down the drain especially with the magnum. 3 shot to head= kill
although i do <3 doing that :)

I agree. Why? DMR = Designated Marksman Rifle! Now..point out the keyword in that weapons name! Thats why I agree!

Strafe... It forces you to strafe and not stand still/crouch.

After looking at the OPs service record, I'm convinced he's trying to troll.

I don't think it is more skillful. I feel No bloom just doesn't work for this game. Maybe Halo 3 but you had bullet spread as well. It was much different not a single shot gun. You get destroyed in a second by two people shooting in Halo 3 you could at least stand a chance.

If you use the Magnum in ZB you are too handicapped to use the DMR.

The Magnum as a pickup would be wonderful, and the RoF with the DMR should be slowed down a little bit.

Of course I feel like I walk around a corner and get destroyed in a second flat. You might as well every time you run into 3 guys run around in circles.

LONG LIVED METAL

still knobbing on about zero bloom?

Bloom is meant to make your shots less accurate, so for all you people who think bloom makes bad players good, you are fools. Bloom works just as intended and makes team shooting and pacing shots more important.

Zero bloom makes shooting easier, fact.

100% bloom, 80% bloom 20% bloom, zero bloom...whatever...if you can't deal with simple gameplay mechanics you are special in the head.

Because it's consistent.

I don't like it though. Magnum and DMR kill too fast.

you can fight all you want about which is more "skillful" the important point is that zero bloom is more like classic halo.

Skill or no skill the consistency makes the game FUN.

Fun fact: 9/10 users with no linked gamertag are better than you at Halo. That doesn't necessarily mean that I am; but it does mean there's a pretty solid chance.

You find pacing your shots more effective?

And yet despite that, you have a 0.43 K/D?

I mean, you're entitled to your opinion, but your way of doing things clearly isn't working out that well.

I'm in love with Jesus and proud of it!

It's not more skillful. Convenient yes, because bullets go where you actually AIM, but no... bloom requires you to pace, lest you fire a weird rifle/shotgun thing with unpredictable spread.

iPhone 4S 64GB Black.

Bloom can't separate the bad and good players. Bloom is barely noticeable compared to Halo 3. Anyone who disagree's hasn't got enough sense to understand. There is no argument here, bloom doesn't affect gameplay near as much as many other things. A bad player can't beat a good one just because of bloom, bloom does encourage people to aim more accurately and that is it. Without bloom, the DMR is a weak sniper rifle and anyone can use it to kill people on the other side of the map. Bloom doesn't even put the bullets far apart, people way overreacted and are still overreacting.

  • 11.04.2011 8:13 AM PDT

i understand bloom has never been a part of halo before, but how does one argue that you can run in a zig zag pattern really quickly with a *marksman's* rifle and spam perfect bullseyes (on a moving taget no less)at 100 yds away. Special spartan suit aside, that has always seemed ridiculous to me.

anyway, i personally like ZB when its two full parties going against each other. if its a full party vs mic-less randoms its almost hard to watch. lol its so unforgiving.
