The playlist has a hard time cracking 1,000 players during high volume hours.

To me, Reach is beyond dead. I'm only getting CE:A for the campaign. Will probably play a few games on the new maps to see how they flow then just switch over to MW3 till Halo 4 comes out.

If the new updates aren't over the entire title of Reach, I'm just going to stick to Firefight till I'm an Inheritor. I want to be able to enjoy the other playlists with ZB, bleed through and nerfed AL and Camo, faster speed, jump height, etc.

After so many games in the playlist, ZB > 85%, bleed through is SO SO SO nice, AL and Camo have never been a problem for me, it don't cry about it like some players on here.

But, why should I be forced to play just ONE dedicated playlist if I want to have an enjoyable game? Talk about losing players. It reduces my plate to 1 playlist when there are countless others I could play.

I just hope to god the update is an actual TITLE UPDATE and it effects the WHOLE game of Reach in general. Don't just add a stupid playlist and hope it saves Reach.

Because in reality, it won't.

i presume you are talking about the TU playlist, if so, they will probably make all the changes on the release of CEA

Players don't like the changes in the TU. If they did it would be populated. 343i has no reason to make changes across the board. I would have liked a modified acive camo and AL in BTB, but it's not going to happen. If you don't like it, move onto another game. Reach is what it is.

And why should the people who enjoy playing default, which, it seems outnumbers those who play TU, have to play one dedicated playlist? What makes you so special that 343i should put your needs before making money and selling Halo games? (Which is in fact, why 343i exists in the first place.)

Both you and Lord under your comment have hardly any games played in H3 and none in Halo 2.

EDIT: provide another GT to prove me wrong.

343 knows the current players in Reach are made up of the strong hold of CE and H2 gamers. They know exactly what WE want.

Kids who just started playing Halo with H3 or ODST have no idea what loldefaultReach did to us players. It made it so the "casual" "bad kids" have a chance to win 1v1 DMR battles thanks to the stupid bloom and no bleed through.

Not to mention the nades. You can always spot the novice players, they throw a nade when they see you, don't even bother shooting their weapon.

It's gotten really pathetic.

I WANT to like Reach but with the way it is, it's just god awful. I have switched to other games, Forza 4, GoW3, NHL 12, and soon to be MW3.

But I ask, why should I be limited to just ONE playlist everytime to just play Reach. That's just insanity and really isn't fair to me and makes my whole online experience just go down the crapper, like how Bungie did with ODST and Reach.

We have been raised for combat...
We carry our banner to our fights...
Alone we are a menace, together we are a threat...
Born to raise hell, live to drop back in it...
Never retreat, never surrender... we are spartans.

In my opinion there should be a Halo reach playlist and a Halo classic playlist featuring all of the TU updates on all gametypes.

That way everyone gets to play Reach how they like it and recover some of the other players.

Ah, see, here's the rub. You don't see those games on my service record, so you assume I never played them. I used to use the GT EvaWulf. But back then, I just got back from a tour of duty in Iraq, and really didn't care about playing online, I had bigger fish to fry. If you must know, I had Halo 2 on release day, trading a couple sub sandwhiches to the video game store I lived above. As for Halo 3, hard to play that online when you're in the middle of the Pacific Ocean on a carrier with comms black out, ain't it?

And if 343 well and truly does know what all you 'hardcore' players want, why even bother with a beta playlist? Why not just say "Hey, this is what people want, we're changing it, tough -blam!-. Love it or leave it." and slap all the changes game wide? You said yourself "They told us a few weeks, it's been a month."

People quit playing the title update because the really good players went into that playlist and stomped on those with lesser skill. So after being stomped on a few times they just quit the playlist atogether just like when classic came out. 343 should implement the changes across the board.

Welcome to the internet. Joy dies here.

It's a shame 343 decided to go with a mixed objective/slayer playlist. I think they would have had better results if they could compare a ZB/85% slayer playlist with equal weightings against Team Slayer. Then they could have factored map selection in and the rest would have been easy math. If the objective games weren't there, I'd play the TU Beta a lot more.

There's probably going to be a hopper that supports multiple playlists with CEAs settings. It will probably have Slayer, Objective, FFA, and Big Team.

It's a new game. It might not be a huge population surge, but people will buy it and then they'll want to play it. The current Reach population can't be the only people buying copies of CEA, otherwise why are we making so many changes? I was under the impression the point here was to add a new multiplayer experience on the existing infrastructure. Draw in some disenfranchised players. Maybe pull in some casuals and first-timers with the low price tag. Not eliminate Reach as an option.

I think they are banking on people will come back to Reach when CE:A comes out.

But I ask, why would they? MW3 will be what, 7 days fresh? Probably the worst timing ever to bring out a game to save a game. IMO

If they do make a hopper playlist with the updates, it's not going to help at all. It's going to infact HURT Reach's population. But the exact details of what is being kept is still unknown, but I can tell you, if there is no ZB or bleed through, it's a total waste.

So it's pretty much a lose-lose situation.

But why punish the good players with just ONE playlist out of the already WAY too many they have now?

If kids can't get kills in the beta playlist right now, it just shows their complete lack of skill in a FPS game. If you can't aim, you shouldn't play.

What is so fun about being stomped on in games? I just don't understand how kids can go double digit negative and lose by 30-40 points and have "fun."

To make it fair across the board it should be ZB all the way with minor tweaks on the game aspect in relation to RoF on some weapons and player movement and gravity.

They say re creating Halo 2 game mechanics are "nostalgia," I call complete BS. They are video game developers, how hard is it to go back on the old files and repeat what you did?

If you look at Reach's population and compare it to Halo 2's population, the numbers are absolutely staggering.

Halo 2 could always hold over 150,000 day in and day out.

Reach, yeah it has a hard time even hitting 50,000.
