If in MM you were paired up in parties based on your individual K/D in certain playlists. That way, casuals would play against casuals, moderates against moderates, and advanced players against advanced players. Perhaps this is simply a bad way to keep players from improving, but it would prevent you from being stuck on a team with players who's K/D's are below 1, above 1.5, etc. Perhaps a rounding system could be used, like matching players to the nearest 10th. So a 1.17 could be paired as a 1.2, and a 1.14 would be paired down as a 1.1, etc. People could still improve, and matches would feature players who all have similar skills rather than a 1.02, 1.90, .43 and .80 getting paired together.

I'd appreciate an actual discussion of "why" or "why not" rather than douche-bag answers.

the search times would be awful if you had a k/d above 1.80 not to mention above 2.0

Country: United States.
State: Pennsylvania.
County: Warren.
I graduated from high school on June-11-2011. I'm 19 right now. I'm turning 20 in December. I like playing video games, and board games. I like reading Sci-Fi, and World War II novels, and what not.

"There is nothing better in the world than being better at a video game than someone else....oh wait"

It's a lot easier having the 1-50 system.
Using K/D to match people up is a bad idea.

well then what about a K/D cap? maxes at 1.6 or 1.7. After that, anything goes, as those players are quite good anyway.

Note that this would also be for individual gametypes. So if your BTB K/D is 1.37 but your Swat K/D is .93, then you'd be paired accordingly.

Not sure about Grifball... seems like everyone would be matched low.

Look, I'm not looking for trolls and a-holes. I'm looking for LEGITIMATE reasons why this would or would not work.

And yes, this system could be abused, but so could the 1-50.

Planking : Parkour for people who don't move very fast.

Isn't this what Truskill is supposed to do? Match like players?

If it is, then it's broken. I get put on teams with people with K/D's WAY below mine... and I'm only a 1.02 (was 1.09 until I let my cousin play swat for a month and get 500+ deaths with the DMR). Likewise, I'll get paired up against teams who are MUCH better than I am. I'd hardly call this system Truskill if it's so incredibly inconsistent.

I guess that's what I get for being a random.

Like a boss.

I like the variety. Getting stomped on some games and doing the stomping in others is fun imo
