There are quite a few good maps out there but I guess mine is the only one that's really delved into the ODST atmosphere.

UPDATE: Just had an epiphany!

Instead of them capturing a supply cache in Phase 1, they'll be capturing a gate that links phase 1 to phase 2 and 3. The cache will still be there though, but it wont open up until phase 1's objective is complete.

It's gonna be epic! I can't believe it's taken me over a year to find such a simple design that was right under my nose the whole time.

Watch me build it on the stream. Now that I know what to do it's gonna be a piece of cake to build. And this finally keeps my action-packed idea for phase 1.

The absolute most difficult challenge I've had to overcome so far is adding height elevation to phase 1. I cannot think of a single problem I've encountered that's been as frustrating as this one. Spawning wasn't even as bad.

If it were Elites attacking, height elevation would be a piece of cake. But with Spartans they have magnums, meaning they'll sit up in these positions and stay there for the round. That's not fair to defenders unless everyone is starting with DMRs and NRs.

Then again, it happens on breakpoint so maybe there's just an issue with the way I'm doing it. Maybe I should give defenders high ground instead of attackers for phase 1.

This map hasn't had any testers yet but I plan to have both seasoned Invasion players and expert Forgers testing it. I'll mention though that it isn't built like traditional invasion, so players who frequent that playlist wont have that much of an influence over any other players.

That is true; however, I assure you that I wont be making any of Bungie's mistakes when it comes to Invasion. and I've already made my own throughout dozens of concepts I've built and tested on their own.

This thread was made 2 months ago. I haven't finished the map yet because I'm trying my absolute best to make it 'mistake-free'. As in, no spawning issues, LoS issues, framerate problems, or gameplay problems. Literally every individual detail has been double and triple checked by myself.

As modest as I can say, I know what I'm doing. But I wont hesitate to fix any problems that arise during testing. I'm open to any and all suggestions.

I agree.. It has looked very good so far. I've drawn some inspiration from your aesthetics into ideas for my designs. Nothing big though, simple things that I just never thought about.


It's the simple things that make a difference in the long run. Something like a sign or lightpost may go unnoticed in the heat of battle, but one can come to appreciate them over time, as it adds depth and character to the map and experience.

I have so many different designs right now that I'm trying to piece together in order to make the map as close to perfect as it can be. The stream resumes in less than an hour. I'm hoping to have a finished final draft blueprint by then. I know what kind of action I'm looking for, so the trick is just making it happen under the budget constraints.
