So what can you tell us about the main concept for your phases?


For Phase 1, players capture a Supply Cache (for supplies, obviously) Which means a territory. I still wanna do reverse core for Phase 2 but I'm not sure how that's going to work. I'm running low on walls already.

I had an idea with an ODST style invasion that uses the pelican you made but like you stated it is 1500 and I don't even know which part of forge world I was going to use. Oh well, you're a better forger than me.


I really wanna keep the pelican. I just don't wanna build a plaza again. The pelican needs a huge plaza and that takes away the city feeling because I wont have enough walls to do buildings.


I was going to have the players spawn in the pelican with jetpacks and have them fly down to the territory/bomb spot. Every time I thought of it I thought of balancing issues.


There are so many interesting ways to spawn players in a city map. I think I'm actually being hindered by sticking to my way.

Why not have a pelican with 8 drop pods? Also, if it's not enough money, then why don't you go get somebody to break money and amount limit? No, you can't get banned for making a forged map based on somebody elses mod.

This guy forges using overlimit. He puts them on his fileshare, and he never got banned. As long as the mod is not in MM, only in customs, and does not lag so much to the point that it ruins your xbox, it's okay.

I can do an entire section from New Mombassa with all those walls if I wanted to. I might even pick it up after this project.

But I'm building this one for multiplayer, so I'd rather not use any sort of mod.

I can do it. Just need to design the right layout. I'm about an hour into what I'm working on now and I'm having doubts once again. LoS and Spawns once again.

So you want to submit this to 343i? That makes sense. However, unless 343i limits invasion to only 2 people per console, forged invasion won't work.

I think Invasion has always been 2 player splitscreen. Maybe they just didn't find matchmaking-worthy Invasion maps? Who knows why it and infection never saw any new maps.

No. It's still 4 player. If you go to the invasion playlist and read the details, it'll say: Max Local Players: 4.

Unless they change it, your map won't work and won't be accepted. So you're better off just making an extremely awesome glitched map for customs. So far, I'd vote for your map if it was in invasion. Looks awesome. But it's probably not going to happen due to 4-player splitscreen.

At that rate, no custom maps will make it into Invasion. 4 player splitscreen is impossible, unless you just place 3 pelicans in the canyon and call it a map.

There is no way to build an invasion map that supports 4 player splitscreen unless your map is very simple. A simple map would be something like 2 pelicans and a road, and that's the Invasion map. The ODST map is not simple because it's comprised of complex structures and designs. Ergo, unless your map is simple, it wont be able to support 4 players on the same xbox. Hell, this game can barely even support 2 players.

They need to remove that restriction cause Invasion needs new maps. Unless Timberlands is set up for Invasion, we're gonna need at least 2 more maps to play on.

And I play Invasion for Invasion, not skirmish or slayer. You can't claim Atom is now an invasion map because you play skirmish on it. We need hardcore Invasion maps because Breakpoint rarely shows up in default Invasion and the other 2 have received no changes to balance at all.

I'm slightly confused. When you're saying about 4 player splitscreen to handle it, are you talking about the console's ability to have 4 players all moving at the same time without lagging or are you trying to say something else?

Yes. I'm saying it is impossible to build an invasion map compatible for 4 local players because it'll lag and flicker really badly. The only way to build a compatible map for them is to make it incredibly simple.

So, I'll say a few things.
1. If you want your map to go to invasion in MM, the max local players needs to be cut down to two, not four.

2. If that's not going to happen, you might as well make the map with an overlimit. It will be great for customs.

It's been done plenty of times, and to be honest I don't find it entertaining. It's inconsistent, and once the novelty wears off you realize you just used all of your barricades for a few seconds of airtime.

I gonna still build within the limit. I'll build a bigger city later on.

There's a different way. It's a crate on bottom. With 2 barricades on top. A lot cooler and easier to survive.
