You did.
My idea got scrapped. Back to older maps.
Your idea is good and can still be used. Right now the most important thing is figuring out a budget-friendly phase 1 that's also safe for spawning.
I bet it's impossible.
If I had my old forging team helping me it probably would have been done 2 months ago.
With that said, I've developed the aesthetic palette significantly since this thread's postdate and I wouldn't trade any of it for a lesser version.
As I've been saying, we're almost there. And when I say that I mean that the perfect layout is gradually building itself. We've gone from huge streets and close spawns to small streets and further away spawns. Awesome aesthetics like the elevators, the gates, and the plaza wouldn't have been included had the map been finished months ago.
I can't wait to finish cause it's going to be so much fun to play on. But it takes baby steps. The spawning area has been perfected and neutral space is pretty much sold around that plaza. Now we just need to figure out where to go from there.
I figured out how to build the supply cache too. It's gonna face the attackers instead of facing defenders or being on its side. On either side of the cache I'll put entrances to a building that houses the elevator shaft. Now just splash a little more CQB onto that mix and we get a solid first phase. The trick after that is 3rd phase and figuring out how that'll be set up. I'm trying to use the least amount of budget on phase 1 as I can. If it dips below 6000 then I need to redesign it. I'm saving 1000 bucks for misc items, 1000 for vehicles and weapons, and 5000 for decorative pieces. That leaves me with 3000 for platforms, blocks, inclines, walls, and rocks.
